I've heard it works, do report in. I am afraid of a diet not based on balance, but I stopped eating anything that was white long ago. My carbs can't be adjusted to take out part of the food, even my cornmeal isn't degermed, just milled whole.

Try the 'sardine' diet. Not only does it help with weight loss it also helps with birth control. Simply eat one can before bedtime.

Back to topic: my grandma is a diabetic and she said to watch out for certain fruits and veggies. Green Beans have low carbs. Have you figured out how many you are allowed a day?

Yup my grandma can have 36 g. That is for one meal you can have 1 cup of mashed potato with a small dab of butter on it and some green beans for one meal.

Nope, I eat whatever I want and just burn it of later exercising.
Dieting is stupid.[SUP]*)

*) [/SUP]for people who don't REALLY need it, that is.

I never eat carbs, well rarely... I can't handle too many carbs I feel sick and bloated. I might have pasta and rice every now and then but thats it, maybe once every 2 weeks.

I have chicken, fish or steak for dinner, with steamed or roasted vegies. More vegies than anything

i recently found out i have severe gluten intolerance, so my choice of carbs has been limited to potatoes and other tubers, sometimes corn (since it's a GMO), rice and rice noodles (I love a good Vietnamese Pho and Khao Soi).....and of course oats. I don't completely avoid carbs on purpose, but I have to avoid all wheat products obviously, or else i get really sick. I'm still adjusting to this new lifestyle so with the thought of "no wheat forever" I sometimes will fall back on some non-wheat carbs occasionally, but I don't overdo it. I let myself have maybe one a day or every other day. I have naturally been losing weight without extreme efforts...maybe because my gut is finally healing itself and the little villi can absorb nutrients properly, and I have more energy to boot! I have a feeling when i start exercising more it will actually work! Plus i've had my hormones more balanced with homeopathic supplements too which has helped me a lot. God has helped bring me to a place where my body is finally in balance. Praise God!

Hi there

I am on a similar diet....although its not only about carbs, which I have completely cut out - our bodies actually do not need them at all. Ironically, we need fat. So while I have cut carbs out, we now drink full cream milk again, have cream, eat fatty bacon, and butter, but it is not leading to weight gain, because if you cut out carbs at the same time, our bodies will burn the fat we eat yet we will not get hungry! (by the way, this is not just some fad diet, it was actually developed by a medical doctor, dietician and a chef, so I believe I am in safe hands...lol)

The Atkins diet also allows for fat, just very few carbs

I'm on a low carb diet, and just wondered if anyone else is?

My wife is pregnant, and because of her type-2 diabetes she is on a low carb diet.

She has to have small portions every meal, and there has to be 1 protein in each meal.

She is allowed to have small snacks between the meals though, like crackers and peanut butter.

She is allowed one 8 oz. portion of dairy a day, and when it comes to starch she can only have what is called silver dollar portion each meal when it comes to pastas or one slice of bread.

When she eats a hamburger, or tenderloin she can only have half the sandwich during her meal. She can then have the other half at her next meal time or during snack time.

I generally avoid pastas except maybe 2-3 times a month. Potatos and fruits are my main carb source

Sort of I just dont eat jumk carbs or empty carbs.
I cut out bread from my diet and my waist dropped for sizes, I cut out all processed sugar, not natural sugar from fruit, I was lifting weights for 15 minutes a night for the first three weeks now I just play tennis one night a week and do a little extra walking as often as possible as I have a desk job.
