Lying in emergency (for example, if a murderer is looking for your friend, you have to save your friends life by lying to the murderer, and also if someone is about to bully you, then you have to lie so they don't bully you)

Are these things sins?
Yes they are sins but almost everything we do is a sin because God knows the motivation behind our actions. But sin has nothing to do with being a christian, the christian life is about knowing God and developing a relationship with him.

Ok, I see. And why do you say almost everything? Even swimming is a sin?

But what if you are single and there is no way to handle sexual urges? And why is it not okay to think about yourself only during masturbation when it's not really possible to self-lust?

People eat each time the feel it... How much is it enough to eat?
The same applys for all those appetites you´ve mentioned.

If I eat too much that is gluttuny... you know the word for sex.

Masturbation without watching porn and without thinking about anyone else than just yourself and your own body NO, just don't lust after a married person, they belong to another. (Matthew 5:27-28)
Gambling and lottery NO, not if its controlled and done responsibly
Worrying NO
Anxiety NO
Depression NO
Fearing NO
Lying in emergency (for example, if a murderer is looking for your friend, you have to save your friends life by lying to the murderer, and also if someone is about to bully you, then you have to lie so they don't bully you) NO, you may not need to lie, but its not always necessary to offer someone the truth if they have bad intentions and the truth is detrimental to others or yourself.

Are these things sins? NO, but just my opinion

Very honestly showed!

Although I don´t see it alike.

Just OUR opinions!

God has given us marriage. That is one purpose.

I agree that too much of any of these is very bad because they take your mind away from God but we are always moving towards perfection so if you try to limit the worse urges then your doing something positive. Also when your in a loving relationship these things wont be such an issue maybe you should try to socialise more

lying to protect someone from murderer? wheres the faith? people actually think God is that distant, that He can't intervene when He chooses. i'm really wondering what kind of god some of you serve.

Please don't be so hard on her!! afterall, Sara did lie to the Egyptians in order to save Abraham's life.

Genesis 12:11-13
12:16-20
20:11

Just seen that last scenario, lying to a murderer. Lying is a sin but a lesser sin than murder. So yes, I would lie to a murderer if it meant saving an innocent life.

Sara did lie to save Abraham's life. I agree with you.

These things that you have mentioned, they weren't what God has intended for us to be. About the murder part, God had violate the Sabbath to save someones' life, so God knows our intentions, but He dislike it when our intentions are evil.

Matthew 12:12 How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

Sara did lie to save Abraham's life. I agree with you.

A little different. Abraham told Sarah to tell a half lie (she was Abraham's half sister), but I don't think anyone's life was at stake. Abraham could have trusted God in that situation as it turned out God appeared to Pharoah in a dream and told him if he touched her he was a dead man.

Yo tg... one thing Jesus can heal is a troubled heart... sometimes right away, often over time... come to me, weary and troubled and I'll give you rest. An idea: rather than worry is this or that or how much is a sin, take a look at fruit of spirit in Galatians 5... ask God everyday to grow more of those in you... over time, is fruit growing and works o' flesh go down? then on right track... grace and peace!

I've always heard this scenario: what if it's 1940's Germany and you are hiding a Jewish family from the authorities. Is it a sin to hide the family since you are being deceitful, or is it better to save their lives? And what if a Nazi officer comes up and asks you if you know where any Jews are hiding? Do you lie or do you give the family away?

As for depression, we need to remember that it can be a medical problem.

LOL!! a half lie is a lie. Something I used to do get out whippings as a kid. It only lasted a short time till my mother caught on and then really used the belt for my lying.

Where does it state murder is a lesser sin than murder? It may be so in our culture buy any sin is treason to God and it is all punished by death, but as we live in a fallen world do what is right in the eyes of God. (Pray and know what is the choice to make.)

But the Bible does say to shun those that sin so I guess you could lie to a heavy sinner to do a good deed in the eyes of good.

anything you would not do in front of god in heaven is a sin.

There is nothing in all of Scriptures that teach masturbation is sinful. If anyone teaches that it is they do not know the Truth. Now what is sinful is what one thinks about when they masturbate. If they are lusting, it is sinful, if they are thinking evil thoughts it is sinful, if they are looking upon the nakedness of someone who is not their spouse, they commit sin. Masturbation without any lusting is not sinful.

Gambling and lottery
The Holy Ghost will convict a person if this is sinful or not. If a person plays in order to win money is that not greed, which is a sin. If a person plays to win to donate ALL of it to charity, how is that Greedy? Again, if you are feeling guilty about doing so, then it is probably sinful for you. if you wondering if it is sinful or not, it is probably sinful for you because whatsoever is not done of Faith is sinful

Worrying
We are to Trust God and not worry. However there is a difference from worrying and being concerned. Worrying about anything that you can't change or do anything about is what i personally think is sinful

Anxiety
Jesus experienced anxiety in the garden before He was crucified. that was not sinful.

Depression
True depression is a mental illness, chemical imbalances in the mind. not sinful

Fearing
Depends what is being feared. we are to fear no man what they can do to us, but we are to fear Him who is able to punish us and take from us (God) To fear God is the beginning of knowledge. Those who do not fear God, do not know Him. Those who fear God walk the straight and narrow, knowing that when they knowingly and willing sin, they will reap what they sow exactly as God said they would, they will be punished, they will reap for the bad that they have done.

Lying to protect anothers LIFE is a grey area
But it is written that all liars shall burn in the Lake of fire and brimstone (Rev 21:8) If a person tells one lie to protect someone else, they are not considered to be a liar. a Liar is one who continues to lie. Someone who lies once ever three years would not be considered a Liar. But someone who lies once a week continually would be considered a Liar. No liar will be taken up with Jesus when He Returns for His chosen few.
