Sure it is possible. When a nation turns from God, chaos is the result. As CS Lewis said, pain is God's megaphone to a deaf world. Remember this also. In a democracy, people get to vote for the decision makers. If Christians want change, they need to vote. And to pray for those in authority.
I like to listen to Jack Hibbs, Calvary Chapel, from time to time. He pulls no punches when talking about the spiritual condition of America. And much of the Western world is worse.
The real apocalypse is still coming, it will be with the total collapse, nothing before compares with it. Jesus will need to come as soon as he does. There is to be judgment on the unrepentant for the wickedness and destructiveness in the world. God's people should already be out from cities, as they were supposed to come out.
