Are we accept the reprimand, or will we have to undergo a nemesis to learn a lesson?
• Amo 4:1-3 -> “Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Samaria, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to your husbands, ‘Bring, that we may drink! ’The Lord GOD has sworn by his holiness that, behold, the days are coming upon you, when they shall take you away with hooks, even the last of you with fishhooks. And you shall go out through the breaches, each one straight ahead; and you shall be cast out into Harmon,” declares the LORD.”.
They would be punished of three ways:
1 – Everyone would be taken away as slaves. Nobody would escape, not even the poor;
2 – They would go through the breaches (probably the breaches which they constructed in order to lurk the weak and undefended), without any possibility of getting rid of it or swerve of their destiny;
3 – They would be cast out into some uncomfortable place.
Unfortunately, they didn’t accept the rebukes of the prophets:
• Pro 17:10 -> “A rebuke goes deeper into a man of understanding than a hundred blows into a fool.”.
Like fools, they only cared about their regal status, quietness and comfort:
• Isa 29:21 -> “who by a word make a man out to be an offender, and lay a snare for him who reproves in the gate, and with an empty plea turn aside him who is in the right.”.
And when it becomes an addiction in the life of someone, it’s very hard to fix this:
• Isa 1:5,6 -> “Why will you still be struck down? Why will you continue to rebel? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it, but bruises and sores and raw wounds; they are not pressed out or bound up or softened with oil.”.
So, have a good day being already opened to Jesus’ correction (see Lev 26:41,43):
• Psa 32:9 -> “Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you.”.
