Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass, in the last days, (saith the Lord,) I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

2 Timothy 3:1
Know also this, that, in the last days, shall come dangerous times.

Hebrews Chapter 6

1 Wherefore leaving the word of the beginning of Christ, let us go on to things more perfect, not laying again the foundation of penance from dead works, and of faith towards God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and imposition of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this will we do, if God permit. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once illuminated, have tasted also the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 Have moreover tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 And are fallen away: to be renewed again to penance, crucifying again to themselves the Son of God, and making him a mockery. 7 For the earth that drinketh in the rain which cometh often upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is tilled, receiveth blessing from God. 8 But that which bringeth forth thorns and briers, is reprobate, and very near unto a curse, whose end is to be burnt. 9 But, my dearly beloved, we trust better things of you, and nearer to salvation; though we speak thus. 10 For God is not unjust, that he should forget your work, and the love which you have shewn in his name, you who have ministered, and do minister to the saints.

11 And we desire that every one of you shew forth the same carefulness to the accomplishing of hope unto the end: 12 That you become not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and patience shall inherit the promises. 13 For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself, 14 Saying: Unless blessing I shall bless thee, and multiplying I shall multiply thee. 15 And so patiently enduring he obtained the promise.

16 For men swear by one greater than themselves: and an oath for confirmation is the end of all their controversy. 17 Wherein God, meaning more abundantly to shew to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed an oath: 18 That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have the strongest comfort, who have fled for refuge to hold fast the hope set before us. 19 Which we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, and which entereth in even within the veil; 20 Where the forerunner Jesus is entered for us, made a high priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedech.

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass, in the last days, (saith the Lord,) I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
This has nothing to do with the falling away or apostasy. This was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost in AD 30.

Yes we are seeing the falling away in Christendom right now. Bible truth and Gospel truth have been abandoned by too many. And it will only get worse.

Acts 2:17 (Joel 2:28) In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

In one of my weekly Bible studies we discussed the timing of the Apocalypse.
Jesus said that only the Father knows the date and the hour, but we discussed that the real reason is that if you know the exact end date, it can make you lazy.
Think about it.
If you knew that the Heavens will open up and the era of the New Kingdom begins, you might be in a different state of mind then.
Nothing really matters because in 2 centuries, 3 months, 6 days and 10 hours in the countdown, the Heavens will open up and everything will be resolved.
Soooo you don't need to do anything.

This sounds a bit like Nihilism to me or Calvinism lol.
Anyway, i live in the now but i just thought i'd share this here because i found it interesting that the priest of the church said that.

Regarding the OP Title:

Yes. However, the "falling away" has been occurring since Pentecost. There have always been those who were weak in faith that "fell away" when the winds of temptations/hardships blew upon them.

Are we living in the time of the falling away? Yes, absolutely. There's been a gradual falling away for a long time, but now it's a full on defection from the faith. "Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." James 1:27

Therefore, once believe God from within you, ask for Matt 10:16-20 and Luke 21:14-15 Believe, receive and see, as it does or has for me taken a long time to not quit belief to God over it all, in the troubles I have gone through too.

The way I understand it, the phrase "the last days" refers in Scripture to the time between Jesus' first and his second comings. So, yes, we are living in the time of the falling away, and we see it all around us. That's why we need to share the Good News about Jesus with everyone.

Interesting Video on this very subject -----Worth the listen Folks --28 min video

i think an understanding of this Falling Away and when and how it happens in the end times is needed ---

The Falling Away - A Theological Prophecy | Dr. David Jeremiah

Perhaps little is more heartbreaking in the Christian’s life than to watch a fellow believer abandon the faith. Dr. David Jeremiah presents strategies for guarding against apostasy.

The Falling Away - A Theological Prophecy | Dr. David Jeremiah

Perhaps little is more heartbreaking in the Christian’s life than to watch a fellow believer abandon the faith. Dr. David Jeremiah presents strategies for guarding against apostasy.

Stop, see the relationship offered us from God Father in the risen Son to us. Who at the cross first took away sin, (all the nasty nines and dirty dozen) everything but "Unbelief" to him that the first Adam started in "unbelief" to God, who ate from the tree of knowledge. We all are first born in this life here on earth, each knowing the truth in us. It gets revealed to each of us personally. Whether one walks away of an earth Church here today or not. God is the true Church (Ecclesia) (the called out ones) yet the building has taken up residence and apostasy has gotten in them. It is up to us the people, to ask God personally and be made wise as serpents, yet remain harmless as doves. Once know the truth about the truth about what falling away really is. Ask God from within you.
Read Hebrews 8 to see God built the Church not man. Man has built the Church as a building to go to and have fellowship between one another to grow up in maturity, (the original purpose) Yet that is not going on today in the buildings, or is it? Each person gets to see this truth and decide to continue or not. Whether one goes to a building or not, is not necessarily that person falling away from the Faith given them from God or is it?
Read Matt 10:16-20, Luke 21:14-15, the entire truth is in the Bible for us the people. It is the wrong interpretations of the Bible that gets in the way. Read Luke 21 from verse 1 about the woman that put in a small amount of her money over the others that put in more, and then see what is said about that?
Do we give it our all, or just when we go to Church on Sunday or Saturdays? Is God our Sabbath, is God your Sabbath rest, Read Hebrews 4 God is the true Church no matter where one goes or not goes, get it, see it and be in love with God over it, 24/7
Thanks
