I would believe that the Book of Enoch was written to be read in our time. I believe that the Dead Sea Scrolls being found 1 year before the supposed "alien" crash at Roswell, NM was the sovereignty of GOD to uncover credibility for that book that would help us to discern what is going on in our times with "aliens", UFOs, the technology of genetic modification, which is leading this world to the Mark of the Beast.
In the book, Enoch states that the book was written to those that would be living at the time of the end, the last generation. It also states that the righteous that read his words in these days will be encouraged by his words. I have found that to be true for me. I feel like it makes the world make better sense to me.
I do not want to contradict you... It's just that I have found that book to be very edifying and bring a healthy fear of the LORD to me. I also believe that if that book had not been "banned" in Christian circles that we would have seen all the Technology (knowledge of the craft and his devises) of the wicked one and expose them for what they are.
Many see CRISPR as a "GOD send", but in reality, it is very wicked and leading to the damnable mark.
In my view, if your spirit is fed by the Book of Enoch, by all means proceed. 💕

As we know, many texts related to our faith have been discovered since our Bible was Canonized.

Part of the Canonization process includes omission of texts that do not fit the predetermined narrative.

Many know some of those books omitted from today's Bible are labeled Apocrypha. From the Greek word apokryphos, meaning "hidden; obscure, hard to understand. ''

Though the
The Apocrypha did appear in the 1611 KJV Bible.

And Jesus made references to Enoch.
Not the Book of Enoch.

If you feel led to read Enoch, trust God. ☺️

Whether or not anything that you said is true, it still doesn't address what the Holy Spirit inspired scriptures say that I just shared with you. That was only one way in which I believe the Bible contradicts the theory that you shared here. There are others. I don't have time to share any others right now, but I will in the future if you'd like me to.
I am very open to considering anything you have to share. No rush.
I personally don't see any contradictions in the way I understand it. It seems we are both feeling different parts of the elephant, if you know what I mean... :)

I hope that I'm not pulling on the elephant's tail. Especially if it just finished eating some bean burritos.

Holding preconceived ideas and preferences for the Bibles narratives does not serve truth or the faith.
Can you explain what you mean by this?

How could false Gods be demons?
in scripture it's with a lowercase g (gods) which changes the meaning vs Gods. Not sure if this was a typo but I figured I'd put it forward.

I'm primarily interested in an explanation of the first quote btw.

I think my statement in the first quote is clear.

If someone has participated in BDF's they must likely have encountered the occasional post where someone insists their ideas related to God's words is what God meant to say.

No it is not clear to me. Specifics are VERY helpful. You are challenging the majority opinion in the church almost everywhere. Do you not see how that would be considered presumptuous that "you" have it right and the majority are wrong without explaining precisely what you believe is an enemy of the truth

I certainly do that when I have an opinion that I "believe" the Holy Spirit has inspired but if it cannot be confirmed by other believers with that same stirring, it may be that my OWN spirit has created it.

I've thought up many ideas that mirror some of the thinking patterns I see with what you've said before but that doesn't make them "truth" and they seem to serve the enemy's purposes in my life so I reject them. Not just because it doesn't fit my "preconceived ideas and preferences" but because that is what I feel led to do when I pray through it.

That's it. They're God's fallen angels whom he let live. As he did Lucifer also.

It's all God. ☺️💕
So this muddies it even further. "It's all God." Could mean that sin itself is "God" or that any error he doesn't immediately correct is "God"...
Are you saying that because he allows demons to represent themselves as gods that he is for it?

You think what you are saying is clear and it's not to me. Can you make another effort?

Hopefully this is just communication error but your statements are pretty open-ended to me.

I think I've said enough.
Ours is a relationship with God.
Not a sheepfold fenced by church consensus.
I believe Protestantism, protest-ant, history is evidence of this.

Alright, thanks for taking the time...if you decide to clarify more I appreciate it.

Personally, my understanding is that a believer is a part of the body of Christ. That is a collective organization...so what that means to me is that the body must agree collectively as well. Major on the majors/minor on the minors is what most go with.

I still think the minors are important. We can agree to disagree and that's fine, but I think it is useful to be meticulous on the minors as well. Especially because we can often go off into our own little personal world and create all kinds of things that don't line up with the Word that we don't see if we don't bounce them off someone else. That's part of why we need each other. This is something I don't personally like (pride maybe) but I do it anyway.

Something sounds good in my own mind and spirit and yet it gains no traction within the body it could either mean that it's a personal revelation or that I am simply wrong.

We all can be in error sometimes and fall into traps.

Take care.

Probably almost everyone on this forum is Protestant Christian because they believe Catholicism isn't biblical

I think we still need dialog on the subject because there are many Catholic sympathizers and apostasy happening at an alarming rate in protestant churches concerning Rome.

BTW I've never been to Rome, but if you are a certain segment of society, every day is like a holiday there. La Dolce Vita
