There are different aspects to overcoming. One is the world, which is the right of every believer. Another is the spiritual hindrances that are stated in the messages to the churches in the first chapters of Revelation. Another is Satan, which is dependent on the Christian's spiritual maturity and willingness to deny himself. Revelation 12:11
They have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. And they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death.
Satan is the accuser of the brethren. He accuses us before God. Some allow Satan's accusations to paralyse them spiritually. Others confess the blood of Jesus, and they testify to the wonderful grace of God. The final condition is not to love the self life to the point where you are willing to die to self - and that may include physical death.
One day, enough overcomers will enforce the victory of Christ on Satan and he will be cast down. It's not possible to know when that day will be. But it will come to pass. We can be spectators, watching what goes on. We can live in defeat and failure, not accepting the power of Jesus to deliver us. Or we can come to know who we really are in Christ and live in victory. Those who choose to live in victory are those who do damage to Satan's kingdom. The choice is ours, the work to bring us into victory is of Jesus.

That's what makes us more than conquerors. It's an interesting phrase...more than conquerors. Why not just conquerors? Because we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us...2 Corinthians 4:7.

a control freak? really? you better get rid of that characteristic. i know a guy who is 1 & he destroyed his family! wife couldn't take it anymore, got divorced. they both earned big dough, started a family & he blew it. was an alcoholic too.
