I am number seven of eleven. My twin brother is the middle child :D
I am the fourth girl and have four younger sisters.
I do not fit the family models.

Magenta, Twins totally facinate me, my younger sisters are identical twins, and they are intensely close. My older sister always wanted me to be her twin.... she still does, and we are over 60 😊

I am the second of 4 girls, but my younger sisters are identical twins. Our mother always said it is as though I am the middle child, because I have many traits of the middle child.

The man I am seeing is also a middle child, and we have many of the same social traits.

People, some people, when I told them I had a twin brother, would ask me if me and my twin brother were identical twins :LOL::unsure::giggle: My mom would line up the girls around his age for the relatives who rarely visited to have them try to guess which one was my twin's twin sister, and they would always choose my next younger sister, which she did not appreciate  What little girl wants to be old she looks like her brother? But they did look more like each other than he and I did ;) Of all my siblings, I remain closest to those two, also :)

I think middle children get along better with other middle children.
Ive noticed even in my friendships, the eldest firstborn ones are kinda bossy and the youngests tend to be clingy.

I'm 2nd among 4 siblings. There's no partiality in our family. Having an older brother made me influenced on what he likes such as music & TV series. Having younger siblings made me more caring. I like being in the middle because I have someone to look up to in a way and I have siblings younger than me who I hope look up to me.

well Ive been observing a lot of family dynamics in primary schools. the middle years are often problematic as theres a lot of growing pains and stages to go through before becoming mature.
When I read childrens books, middle children are often absent in family stories, which often concentrate on an orphaned child making their own way in the world. Harry Potter anyone?
or its about twins, or just two siblings.

However...the popular series Diary of a Wimpy Kid features a middle child. Greg is the middle child of three. His older brother is quite the bully and his younger brother too young and cute to be blamed for anything. Im not sure I like the character of Greg much a he's a boy in a family of just brothers but I can definitely relate to being the middle!!

Hands up if you are...

Best thing about it and the worst? Do you think birth order is a big influence?

Certainly in the Bible firstborns seem to be favoured, and youngest, but...not a word about middle borns. Huh. Now's the time to speak out.
I am the middle brother, and the 5th youngest child in the siblings. I like it, but honestly it doesnt matter to me, because some people are young with a lot of knowledge and experience and others are older but clueless when it comes to certain situations. I do not judge anybody because there are surprises in store for everyone.
