Are you aware of the signs that Jesus grants to keep you away from the sin?
• Pro 19:16 -> “Whoever keeps the commandment keeps his life; he who despises his ways will die.”.
• Pro 13:13 -> “Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded.”.
• Pro 15:32 -> “Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.”.
Unfortunately, many times we ignore the sin as if it was normal and unharmful. We need to face the fight against the sin more seriously. One of the forms is observing the foregoing verses: keep the Word of Jesus, which instruct us and is a commandment which has to be followed.
Other way is to cling to the way of the upright and turn aside from the way of the crooked, even when we are about to forfeit something that, apparently, is precious:
• Pro 16:17 -> “The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; whoever guards his way preserves his life.”.
• Pro 22:5 -> “Thorns and snares are in the way of the crooked; whoever guards his soul will keep far from them.”.
The third thing is to keep our mouth and tongue in sound language (Eph 4:29):
• Pro 21:23 -> “Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.”
After all, the tongue has power of life and death (James 3:6) and determines if we will be blessed or cursed (Mat 12:34-36).
Finally, we need to pay attention to the warnings that Jesus imparts to us:
• Eze 33:5 -> “He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life.”
So, have a good day swerving yourself from every situation or thing that keep you off from Jesus Christ and His love for your neighbor. Take heed to the signs that Jesus give so that you don’t get entangled in any sin (2Tim 2:25,26).
