Are you clothed and beautified with robes of salvation and righteousness?
May us say:
• Psa 90:17 -> “And let the beauty of Jehovah our God be on us; and establish the work of our hands on us; yea, the work of our hands, establish it.”.
One of the great mistakes that a wife makes is to try to get herself beautiful and attractive for her husband. See, for instance, the behavior of the Church, the Lamb’s bride, below:
• Rev 19:7,8 -> “Let us be glad and rejoice and we will give glory to Him. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has prepared herself. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white. For the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.”
It’s truth that she prepared herself. Nevertheless, observe that her apparel was given to her, as we can see in the illustration below about Jerusalem:
• Ezek 16:14 -> “And your name went out among the nations, because of your beauty; for it was perfect in My beauty, which I had put on you, says the Lord Jehovah.”.
Alike, the Creator wishes to dress us with His righteousness and His salvation:
• Isa 61:10 -> “I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul will be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the robes of salvation, He covered me with the robe of righteousness like a bridegroom adorns himself with ornaments, and like a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”.
But, for this, it’s necessary that He finds delight in us:
• Psa 149:4 -> “For Jehovah takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the meek with salvation.”.
It comes the question: are we and our life a pleasure to Jesus? What people are seeing in us (Eph 6:14-17):
a) The belt of truth or lie?
b) The breastplate of righteousness or injustice?
c) The sandals of the preparation of the gospel of peace or the preparation of the vengeance?
d) The shield of faith in Christ or faith in the powers of this world (see Zec 4:6; Isa 30:1-3; 31:1-3)?
e) The helmet of salvation or condemnation for those who hate us?
f) The sword of the Holy Spirit or of the words of Ha-Satan?
So, have a good day leaving Jesus ornate you with all the beauty that there is in His holiness (1Chr 16:29; Ps 29:2; 96:9), instead of trying to embellish yourself with religious formalism or the wealth of this world.
