Are you filling your life only with what can delight the Creator, or are you trying to please men (contradicting John 5:44; Gal 1:10)?
Observe the verses below:
• Pro 19:4 -> “Wealth brings many new friends, but a poor man is deserted by his friend.”.
• Pro 19:5 -> “A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape.”.
• *Pro 19:6 -> “Many seek the favor of a generous man, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.”. *
• Pro 19:7 -> “All a poor man's brothers hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues them with words, but does not have them.”.
Note that the verses 4,6 and 7 are related to have wealth in order to have condition to give gifts. And the verse 6 is amidst these verses, as the filling of a sandwich.
So, it is good to have affluence of goods (both physical and spiritual). We can be used by the Creator to bless more people.
Nevertheless, we need to be careful with the new friends that the wealth brings. As it is said in the Holy Scripture:
• Pro 17:23 -> “The wicked accepts a bribe in secret to pervert the ways of justice.”.
• Pro 17:15 -> “He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the LORD.”.
It is better to be poor and have few, but sincere and faithful friends of pure heart with whom we can pursue the righteousness, faith, love, and peace that come from Christ (2Tim 2:22) than make friends who will induce us to lie and bear false witness.
It is true that:
• Psa 145:9 -> “The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.”.
• Mat 5:44,45 -> “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. .”.
• Luk 6:35 -> “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.”.
And, of course, as a spring can’t pour forth from the same opening both sweet and bitter water (Jas 3:11), we need to be good and kind with everyone. Such as it was enjoined to every tree to bear fruit pursuant to its specie (Gen 1:11), it is up to us to produce only the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:22).
Those who doesn’t abide by it will experience what is written below:
• Heb 6:7,8 -> “For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.”.
• Joh 15:2 -> “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”.
The great problem of the human being was to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Henceforward, the humanity acquired a twisted sense of justice that entice them to behave of two ways, what is heinous thing before the Creator:
• Prov 20:10 -> “Double weights and double measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.”.
So, have a good day manifesting only what is good before the Creator, without regarding if the person will be your friend or not.
