1 Jn 3: KJV "And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and can assure our hearts before him. For it our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not then we have confidence before God, and know that we have whatsoever we ask because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment: that we believe upon the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as he commanded."
One might say that a clear conscience empowers full power faith.

Let me ask: are you living with guilt? And do you feel guilty even after confessing sin?
Heb 5: 12-6: 3 KJV "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principals of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to those who are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Therefore leaving the principals of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, and of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement."

The need for repentance is what makes us babes, even if we had attained spiritual maturity, being able to walk after the Spirit with a heartfelt joy unspeakable and full of glory attitude. It's the Holy Spirit who decides when to apply the word of righteousness toward repentance or to teach doctrines and to understand knowledge.

Is 28: 9, 10 KJV "Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little and there a little."

Are we able to really repent by our own strength of will? Does our guilt cease when we confess our sin?
For those who spend enough time in the scripture to be cleansed, the Holy Spirit will even use our own guilt from our renewed consciences to set us free from our most persistent sins. And once we have the victory over a sin with a repentance ministered to us by the Holy Spirit. he applies the blood of Christ upon our consciences. A blessing that is only available by the New Covenant.

The OT sacrifices sufficed for the cleansing of the flesh, but in Heb 9: 14 KJV "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God."

So, if you're living with guilt: devote yourself to the scriptures abundantly and the Holy Spirit will set you free with a repentance that comes from the Lord.

This is how the Lord fulfils the promise of the New Covenant as seen in Heb 10: 16-18 KJV "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin."

I consider the Lord remembering our sin no more to be the second greatest miracle of all eternity. The third greatest miracle is when the Lord writes his commandments and laws upon the tables of our hearts and minds. And of course, the greatest miracle is when our sins were put upon Jesus that we might have life everlasting with the Lord!

Thank you Jesus!
