Are you ready to know what Jesus has for you (or are you in the condition of the disciples in John 16:12)?
• Eph 1:18 -> “having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,”.
As we can see, it is necessary keep the eyes of our heart enlightened. But, what can obscure the heart?
1 – the ignorance that is in the people;
2 – the hardness of heart:
• Eph 4:17,18 -> “Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.”.
3 – In virtue of the hatred in their heart:
• 1Jn 2:9-11 -> “Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.”.
This last, in particular, is terrible because the grudge can harden the heart in such a way that the person becomes unable and without any desire of contemplating the Life of the Creator in their enemies and, obviously, how can be glorious His inheritance (His people) in the saints.
Many times, our sense of justice works on us exactly in what we can see in the laborers of the first hour:
• Mat 20:13-15 –> “But he answered and said to one of them, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a shilling? Take up that which is thine, and go thy way; it is my will to give unto this last, even as unto thee. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? or *is thine eye evil, because I am good?* “.
Instead of thinking that the workers of the last hour needed money to supply their needs and of their family, they only concerned about what they had to suffer in order to fulfill the wish of the lord of the vine. The men that arrived later wasn’t wanderers (so much so that all of them accepted the word readily, don’t caring about how much they would receive).
So, the hatred, many times, preclude us of seeing the side of the other person. Even if the person is wrong, we need to seek in Jesus what the person really means to us. Who know this person is part of the hope to which Jesus has called us? (our fig tree in the middle of the vineyard – ponder on Luke 13:6-9).
So, have a good day keeping your eyes enlightened and full of alacrity for contemplating Jesus’ life even in those who, to your eyes, deserve the hell.
