Luke 21:36 But watch at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the Son of man.”

The promise to keep you from the furnace of fire which is the Tribulation which includes wars, terrors ad signs from heaven, famines, pestilence, great earthquakes, persecution, roaring of the seas, the antichrist and much more.

But there is a time of watching:

Exodus 12:42 It was a night of watching by the Lord, to bring them out of the land of Egypt; so this same night is a night of watching kept to the Lord by all the people of Israel throughout their generations.

That night was Passover

Mt:24:42
Watch therefore: for ye KNOW NOT what hour your Lord doth come.
Rev.3:3
Remember therefore how thou hast RECEIVED and HEARD ,and HOLD FAST and repent. If therefore thou shalt NOT watch,I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt NOT KNOW what hour I will come upon thee.

There used to be watchmen set up among God's people,( now pastors preachers and teachers)
but that time is no more.

It is now time we wake from our sleep, put on the whole armour of God,be aware and resist the enemy, and LOOK heavenward for CHRIST return.
The time has drawn near, even nearer than we think or when our walk first began.

every day we wake we should live as if he could be coming tomorrow so we remain in a state of readiness .

but we don’t want to hide in a room and do nothing , and think that’s watching and being ready we need to be spreading the love of Christ and word of the gospel because we know each day is one more day closer and we don’t want others to be left blind to what’s coming

I Agree with all of the above posts, sings of the end are visible. I think the end times are near and we must ready and warn others who might listen.

The most alarming signs i see now are the mRNA vaccine that modifies the human genome, people are now GMO's just like the time of Noah when the fallen angels polluted human genome. Also lawlessness is quite common now, what is bad is good and what was good is now bad like it was prophesied. I also see the mark of the beast coming very soon, it started with the social credit system scam in China. Here, in north America and many countries of Europe they are paving the way for such a system with the vaccine pass, and have plans to expand this by combining this pass with bank info, passport info medical info and so on. In Sweden, the vaccine pass might become implantable under the skin very soon...

We must prepare, watch and pray.

Seriously, does anyone knows where the end time place to be prepared for GOD's people might be? Some say Petra but I am not certain it is the case.

Bless ,

Hate to break it, but times are gonna get hard everywhere.

I would say you don't want to be in a big city, though, especially not one of the big cities known for exceptional wickedness. NYC, Vegas, LA, SF, DC, lookin' at you all!

Can you NOT watch but with me one hour?
I've always thought they were supposed to be praying too.
There may be something else here.

Mt.26: 38-46......Tarry ye here and WATCH WITH ME.

Jesus was in such despair about his upcoming death, after having the Passover meal, where he instituted the Eucharist, he went to a garden to pray.

I always thought they were to pray.
He said after finding them asleep again, watch and pray that you enter not into temptation.
The spirit may be willing for the sacrifice of watching and praying but the flesh is weak. Do not give in to the freshly side of your spiritual life.

Maybe also knowing it was close to time,he wanted them to watch for his betrayal.
Be aware your enemy is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Watch and pray therefore be aware and in prayer.

For years many have believed that everything would go fine & nothing bad would happen until after the Rapture, but anyone watching would know that's not true.
Even now, the stage is being set in the economic sector, Industry, Govt's, & religions for the Antichrist. Every area forms a triangle of power with fewer at the top in charge of everything. This makes it easier to hand over everything to him when the time comes. It also makes it easier to set up the laws on buying & selling.

Yes, while the tribulation is happening, which includes wars, terrors and signs from heaven, famines, pestilence, great earthquakes, persecution, roaring of the seas, the antichrist and much more Christians are told to keep watch. Really gives something to consider and think about. We're watching for the return of Christ during the great tribulation according to Luke 21.

I know this is hardly the place for this is but does anyone think that His coming may be after the man of sin is revealed.

As to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we beg you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as though from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord is already here. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one destined for destruction (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3).

This may take place on or near a Passover but I always pictured Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) as announcing the beginning of the Day of the Lord. In Sinai, His coming before the Israelites was announced with thunder, earthquakes, smoke, fire, and trumpets. That would give this day meaning as a New Beginning. This also would take place after the long, strenuous summer months (Days of Av) and the wheat harvest is ready in full at the end of summer/beginning of fall. Another thing to note, according to scripture, His gathering of the righteous and His Wrath on the unrighteous start on/near the same day.

7 Be silent before the Lord God!
For the day of the Lord is at hand;
the Lord has prepared a sacrifice,
he has consecrated his guests.
8 And on the day of the Lord’s sacrifice
I will punish the officials and the king’s sons
and all who dress themselves in foreign attire (Zephaniah 1:7-8).
He continues with judgments/wrath throughout the rest of this chapter.

You quoted Passover as a possible day and I question whether the Lord was telling us the future?

Matthew 27:53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

How about that Luke 21 where they are told to watch and wait for the return of Christ during the great tribulation?

Luke 21:25-28
25And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

The signs in the sun, in the moon and stars, the powers of the heaven shaken, etc. Then Christ coming in a cloud with power and great glory. "Lift your heads... your redemption draweth night..."Luke 21 is talking about surviving, if possible, until Christ returns to rapture the church after the great tribulation.

Luke 21:36 But watch at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the Son of man.”

If I may give a word of wisdom here, anyone who enters into the tribulation is unrighteous. Since you have accepted the Lord's pardon for sins and your sins are covered by the blood Jesus shed. Have you not accepted his offer of grace thru faith??? Then why would you expect to experience the greatest calamities since the flood.

Romans 4: 7 “Blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;

Hebrews 9:28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.

The Lord’s pardon for sins does not exempt someone from tribulations and hardships, certainly not because they are a Christian. Actually, the Bible says the opposite of what you seem to be suggesting.

John 16:33
33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Romans 12:12
12Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

1 John 5:5

Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Did you know the church saints wear white linen/garments and the tribulation saints wear robes. rev 7:9 7:13 22:14

I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Believing in Jesus and overcoming the world doesn’t exempt anyone from tribulation. Luke 21 says to watch for Jesus to return while the tribulation is happening.

You seem to be applying a false dichotomy using subjective criteria to compare the church with saints in the great tribulation based on the description of what they are wearing.

Robes are garments made of linen. Saints are members of the church. They aren’t distinctly different.
