I was reading a thread in the forums embroiled in tremendous controversy. Some people were responding with truth and correction, but some people were just making it worse. I don't get that. Aren't we supposed to "seek peace and pursue it" (Psalm 34)???

Why does it seem like arguing is a form of entertainment for some people? What causes this? How do we reconcile it with our walk with Christ?

And i disagree and wish to argue about it

I think the answer might be in these scriptures:

Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes. - (Proverbs 26:4-5)

But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. - (Titus 3:9)

Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues. - (Proverbs 17:28)

as Ive walked down particular roads with different groups ... I've always wondered ...
"how much quicker we would have gotten to our destination , had we not stopped to argue"..
