AGI
He makes a very interesting point that everyone in power, every billionaire, what they want more than anything is AGI, an "all seeing eye". He also makes it clear they will never give it to you. Which raises the question why are they giving everyone access to AI? Just about anyone can make use of AI today for a small fee or even for free. Why?
1. You are training the AI to become AGI. It isn't that you are getting the AI for free, they are using you to train it for free. The fact that it is free means you have no reason to believe you will have access to this tomorrow.
2. The AI owns everything it does. So if you bounce ideas off of AI, it now has your ideas. Most extremely wealthy people got there "by hook or by crook".
3. Everything you are doing on line is going into "your file". Instead of discerning who you are by looking at where you go, what you buy, they are learning about who you are by talking with you through AI. The level of intelligence gathering has increased exponentially.
4. Right now AI is superior to humans at following directions. It can do that very well, it can operate 24/7, it is more reliable than every human when it comes to being avaiable 24/7, and it is cheaper and faster. This doesn't mean it can reason better than all humans. Think of AI as being at Forest Gump level, and for the military or any job where you are supposed to follow orders it is a "genius'. The problem is that no company, especially no fortune 500 company hires people out of college to "give orders", only to "follow orders". So right now AI is better at that than any kid graduating college.
But, every year AI gets better and better at reasoning.
But here is something else AI is truly excellent at, statistical analysis. So AI can come into a company and grade the people who are making decisions and determine who are the best, who are very good, who are OK, and who are performing worse than the AI is. So AI is a very good tool to determine who AI should fire and replace and who AI should study and be trained by.
Think about how far we have come in the last four years. Four years ago ChatGPT was at the level of writing high school papers really well. In the last four years it has become really good at college level and graduate level work. It is also employable and being used in a variety of fields extensively. The millions of people using AI, especially at corporate applications are training it to replace them and it is improving much faster than they are. Once AI was good enough to replace entry level workers it is "game over" for employees. Even if someone did graduate and get a job, the AI will outcompete them over the next two years. Every year accountants and CEO's will be using the AI to determine who to lay off, who to fire, how to make the company leaner and meaner.
80% have no chance to compete. It is simply a matter of time before they are let go and when they are let go they have no chance of getting another job in that field. The other 20% have a chance but it will be so cut throat with such intense competitive pressure that it is doubtful that a third of them will do what it takes and so in two years you will be down to about 7% who are truly still scoring as "necessary" and "valuable" employees in the fortune 500 companies. We saw how Walmart put mom and pop stores out of business and how Amazon.com put shopping malls out of business. Well that competition is increasing exponentially as Fortune 500 companies can gobble up any competition that local businesses uses to give them.
So this is why they will never give you AGI. You are simply training your replacement.

That's been done before AI.
Years ago the union in Verizon had workers go on strike, again.
What the union didn't see coming is that the top offices of Verizon did see it coming. So,well before the new contract renewal date Verizon had a hiring fair. All departments.
Because the new hires were on a contingency basis, being trained for the respective positions, those hires weren't subject to joining the union.
After weeks of training,the deadline for current union employees was up. No new contract. Meaning,no union.
The union ordered employees to strike. And,they did.
That same day,all those contingency new hires they'd trained stepped in and took their places. Every department.
A near seamless transition one day to the next. The only thing that changed slightly was,when you called customer service. A recording would inform callers that department was in transition with new hires. Please be patient.
Thd former employees towed the line and continued the strike at local Verizon and Fios Cell locations. But it was hella hot in some places and they didn't last long.
Here,one line hold out carried their ,ON STRIKE, sign on the sidewalk in front of the local Fios store. He lasted two days in 90+ degree heat.
So,when you think about it,AI is just a Fios union busting copycat.
No,not really but,rarely can you chuckle about AI.

According to two of the sources, armed members of the US military were preparing to board the ship. Military planes were in the air, one of those sources and another source familiar with the incident said.
It was only just before the planned operation that officials dug deeper into the report put together by a special operations command analyst and found it had been generated with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) — and that a chatbot the analyst had used inaccurately identified the material the ship was carrying. CNN was not able to learn what the misidentified cargo was. The report, according to one of the sources, was “entirely false.”

Some people seem to think that governments will be using AI and robots to become totalitarian regimes with robo cops. Seems they have been watching too much TV. In unrelated news Trump has announced he will be making a new AI force with an AI Czar to oversee it.
It is true. They do provide protection, just like a feed lot provides protection to cows before they are slaughtered.This like a combination of Terminator, Enemy of the State and .......

AI !!!! Oh my.... They call it AI.... This what they call AI is not the artificial intelligence. A pack of binary codes and that's it. Cut the main power, disconnect from the internet and ooops.... Where is it gone???? Read Isaac Asimov's books - there's a good explanation what is AI not this parody what we see now. AI
