I love the days when I find out "how this is going to work out."
We get a foreclosure notice, but there is no way to keep up with our mortgage in time. Eight weeks, later, God gives us a way to keep our house, (and we still didn't have money to pay the mortgage.)
If hubby doesn't get his shot of chemo, in Week 7 of a 24 week regiment that's kicking his butt, he's going to have to start all over. The drugs come in the mail, but it's the Christmas season, so lots of mail coming for everyone. 7 AM Christmas Eve, Fed Ex rings our door bell. The delivery driver laughs at how important that must be to get him there at that hour.
Hubby has a massive heart attack, and he's in such bad shape even he hears, while semi conscious, a guy rolling him down the hallway on the gurney saying, "this one won't make it." He's in such rough shape, they can't even do the surgery to repair his heart for 31 days. By the time he is woken from all the sedatives, he can only lift one arm a bit. The internet says that anyone stuck in ICU for over a month is very likely to be dead in half a year to a year later, even if they get out of ICU, and he was in ICU for two months. Seven months later, he's finally able to come home, but still faced a whole series of doctor appointments, and we're both wondering if he's going to die at any moment. Last Wednesday, we finally found out there is no expiration date stamped on him again. For the first time in two years, I have more doctor appointments scheduled than he does. lol
And, because we were both disabled for oh so long, our house looks a bit worse than anyone can imagine. I did the math. It would cost us twice what we paid to buy this house, (and we still have the mortgage), to fix this house. And far more energy required to make it look like a house again. We have been praying for the last 17 years that our windows do not fall out. That bad. And tomorrow we get to see God working in action. PennEd and his friends are coming over to get us sorted.
I just love the joy of finding out how God is going to work this one out all the time. It may take weeks, months, or years, but he does sort it as needed, and he is never late in sorting it.
