Keep in mind that Jesus and His disciples were not accepted by the religious leaders of their day.
The Word tells us specifically to search the Word itself for the truth. Not to compare denominational beliefs.
So the cults have the truth and the church has been wrong until Wm. Seymour mixed voodoo with Wesley Methodism at Azusa St. in the 1900s?
Tongues associated with the initial evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost is not the Spiritual gift of tongues noted in Corinthians. Even so, I do not agree that the biblical record indicates the gifts have ceased either.

Search the bible instead of denominational beliefs, because in it is where truth can be found.
Well, I’d have ask the 4 men in the OP what language they were speaking in tongues and what subject matter were they ministering and to whom?
What is the purpose of speaking in alleged tongues, that nobody present can interpret? What miracle is God granting the speaker? Who is influenced by such, except the easily influenced?
People can assume many things but only God knows whether one's operation of a Spiritual gift is authentic or counterfeit. Keep in mind that it is God's Holy Spirit flowing out of a reborn person's body that manifests the Spiritual gift. Whatever the gift may be; prophesy, word of knowledge, etc. is provided for another's benefit. The operations of the Holy Spirit work to help others not necessarily the person that the gift is flowing through. So in actuality there is only one to boast about and that is God Himself for it is He that blesses others through the process He designed.
We do know from the Word that Spiritual gifts are in fact given for the edification of the church body. The Apostle Paul would not have stated we are to desire spiritual gifts if in fact they are not useful in ministry. (1 Corinthians 14)
Only the apostles could provide the gifts for a limited time. If you ignore scripture, you'll end up with phony knockoffs that are worthless.
According to Paul, tongues are for the edification of the individual. Once God infiltrates the body of a human being, His Spirit and the individual's spirit become connected. This is seen in Paul's comments in 1 Corinthians chapter 14:
1 Cor 14:2
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
1 Cor 14:4
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;
1 Cor 14:14
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth
1 Cor 14:15
I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Notice Paul makes a distinction between his personal speaking in tongues, and speaking in tongues in the church setting:
1 Cor 14:18-19
I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
Please provide scripture that specifically states that the gifts were to be provided for a limited time. Paul specifically stated that the Corinthians were to desire Spiritual gifts. He told them to pray for the gifts. Therefore the gifts were given at times without assistance from apostles.
Only an apostle could distribute the gifts besides the 2 outpourings. They are gone. Your task is to prove otherwise.
Confusion takes place when one has not been taught that there is a distinction between
receiving the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, and receiving Spiritual Gifts for edification of the church. They are two entirely different things:
One-Each person must receive the Holy Ghost this is the promised gift. (Acts 2, 8:12-17, 10:44-48, 19:2-6) In each of these cases the Holy Ghost poured into the human body of the individuals. The evidence that this occurred was the person began speaking in tongues. Read Paul's comment in Acts 19: have you received the Holy Ghost since you believed? A person cannot be born again without having the Holy Ghost/Spirit take up residence in their body.
Two- Born again individuals receive Spiritual gifts (prophecy, word of knowledge, tongues and/or interpretation, etc.) distributed to them by the Holy Ghost that dwells inside their human body. (1 Cor. 12 and 14)
I have provided clear evidence drawn from the scriptures themselves. Upon study of the scriptures noted one will see the stated truth. (2 Tim 3:16)
We are told to rightly divide the Word of truth. (2 Tim 2:15) This means to examine and group scriptures together that pertain to a topic. It is literally impossible to understand biblical concepts if one mixes scriptures together that do not pertain to one another.
My comment (Post #37) was in reference to your claim that the information I provided previously was opinion. (Your post #38) What was provided is scripture outlining the different records that apply to receiving the Holy Ghost. And the ones that pertain to receiving gifts given by the Holy Ghost. (Post #35)
I’m very reluctant to believe the testimonies of any new Apostolic movement. Once the “Speaking in tongues” is interjected I call into question the validity of the claim. We have the Bible as God’s given revelation for man already.
