Oooh, now I'm curious... what areas is Olerica stubborn and rigid on?

*Lynx steadfastly resists the urge to poke Olerica (with arguments) to see where she won't give. Must... be... nice...

Oh Lynxie. If you want to know, I'll tell ya. But only in PM.

So, there.

I have to agree. I've never read anything. You're fine. However, I do want to take exception with the above poster. I feel as though her answer was overly zealous. She could have just said what I said - "no, everiything's good" but in her long diatribe she created an antagonist, a protagonist, then concluded with comments concerning your wonderfulness. Way outside the bounds, I felt. It sounded a little like ...say... a congressman for instance who might be ....... receiving some kind of benefit for their support of an issue. They might have some kind of diffident strategy in their defense. A payoff, one could say.

So I began to retrace some past events concerning any secondary relationship between the above poster and the defendant and a single word emerged that tore away this ... facade, this curtain of flamboyant support. The word was.......... cheesecake.

Hey! That cheesecake was DELICIOUS.

...I also am going to start referring to you as Dectective. Or...right pain in the- no, Detective is prolly better :p

I was going to refute the comment by saying you paid for the cheesecake and then I remembered that I gave you an anniversary gift because I love marriage and how much you two seem to really like each other, let alone love each other. *Smooch*

Disclaimer: Friends who visit me tend to be privy to cheesecake. That's just how I roll. I show love through food. What can I say? I bake for a living!

As soon as I make my way toward Oregon I will be making my way towards you because I stinkin' LOVE cheesecake. Granted I stay away from dairy most days (I tend to have a reaction towards lactose and casein) but I still love that stuff so dang much so I still have it on the occasion.

And you're so not a bully. You've been a great help towards me actually. :)

Reminds me of an old Garfield cartoon. Jon and Garfield are going to visit Jon's parents on the farm. Jon says, "Now Garfield, mothers show love in their own way. When she feeds you she's saying she loves you."

So they get to the farm and his mother has dinner on the table. "Eat, eat eat!" Garfield hugs her and says, "I love you too."

I didn't know all about that!
It's all new for me :)
OK, I'm not concerned at all,

Oh no, you certainly don't come across as being a bully. Direct? Yes. But intimidating? No.

Does the person who told you this hail from a different background as compared to yours? I can say from personal experience that some cultures consider being direct as an equivalent to being intimidating.

Nevertheless, in my opinion, I think you are one of the nicest and sanest folks here on CC Singles.

Really? Interesting. I don't know what you're talking about, brother. ;)

Honest opinion here: NO. The person that said that is the bully. And the people supporting that person are choosing to look the other way about the bullying behavior, or they're also bullies.

Truly, read through this person's posts and responses to people- and then compare them to your posts. You are often almost overly careful to make sure people understand your tone, and that you are not wanting to assume anything. This person...stirs people up for fun and then acts like a victim when people even so much as simply disagree.

You are not a bully. And I'd be of the same opinion even if I didn't already think you're wonderful.

Supporting the bully...Or, they are trying to get the facts. And clarify the matter. What might appear as looking the other way, may actually be something else altogether.

And that's especially true in this format of communication.

Not everyone who asks for a break in a heated discourse is taking sides.

Olerica,

I have not read any posts from you that are inappropriate, rude, condescending, belittling. So far so good.

Some folks will tell you, "Coming from Galahad, that's a tremendous compliment." Others will say, "Don't believe it. Not from Galahad."

But I assure you, I mean it.

Blessings.

Come to India, bro. :p

Friend to me at an apparel store: "Does this look good on me?"
What I want to say: "I think it makes you look hideous."
What I say: "It's nice. But, don't they have anything else?"

:p

the 'ones' who make the claims against you have nothing to say for themselves.

I wasn't talking about onlookers who stayed out of it, I was referring to the people who openly showed support and encouragement of bullying and irrational behavior. Either they did so because they don't want to see it for what it was, or they are bullies themselves.

Or they want to be on the bullies side so they won't get any flack themselves.
