The city where I live has been a graveyard for Christian hopes and aspirations over at least half a century. Many have come here with the intent of bringing revival. Just as many have left scratching their heads, wondering what it will take. I know because I've lived here that long. A number of times I've wondered what I'm doing in this spiritual wasteland.
Yet God has kept me here and I have been abundantly blessed. So many Australians leave for America because it is much easier to be fruitful there. That's a shame, because Australia needs godly men far more than America does.
The churches in this city got together and organised a baptisimal meeting on our foreshore. They gathered on Good Friday and baptised at least 300 people. Some say 400 and I've heard as high as 600. This is unheard of in this place. Obviously, we are rejoicing in God's goodness and the power of the gospel. Many have gone before and been used to plow up the hard ground, so to speak. Now we see some fruit. All glory to God.
