You are making the same error as Wanderer. The scientific explanation of star and planet formation is accepted by millions of Christians. It's not an atheist explanation at all. It is a scientific explanation. I am asking you to explain on what grounds you are rejecting these two scientific hypotheses? Why do you believe they are not plausible? Do you reject them on principle alone (that is because you think they contradict the biblical view) or do you have some other explanation? Thanks for your comment Tintin. I suspect, however, that maturity plays a part. When I was younger I was more arrogant. That was before I realized the other side had things to teach me.I've met many rabid, hate-fuelled atheists on the Internet but very few offline. I enjoy discussions with atheists who are respectful and open to intelligent discussion (like you Cycel). I have no time for stupid teenagers (or adults) who troll just to rile up Christians.
I disagree. There is nothing dominant about light over darkness. When we experience light we are simply detecting photons striking the photo receptor cells of our retina. In a dark room there simply are no photons of a frequency we can detect. Deadly cosmic rays might be streaming through the room, but we'd never see them. If our eyes were sensitive to the high frequency cosmic rays the room would appear bright.But no matter how absent it is, it cannot overshadow, or over dominate light. Unlike the colors black and white, one side is dominant no matter how great it is. So, how great is that light???

Your phrase, "no matter how absent it is, it cannot overshadow, or over dominate light" doesn't really make any sense to my mind. If photons of a frequency your eyes can detect are not present where you are then you will think you are surrounded by darkness. If the same room was filled with ultra violet light many insects would buzz around thinking they were in bright surroundings, but you would see only darkness.
Perhaps you could explain further what you mean?
Bryan, darkness is simply the absence of photon frequencies the photo sensitive cells of your retina can detect. Saying darkness depends on nothing is like saying silence depends on nothing. It's like saying sound chases away silence. It makes no sense. Sound is simply frequency vibrations traveling through the air that are detectable to our ears, and light is simply photons that are delectable to our eyes. I never said otherwise. Read what I wrote once again. You have not understood.No need to explain, you just stated that light exist only through our retina. You are explaining how we perceive it, not how it is there. Whether I can see light or not, doesn't change the fact it's there.

Bryan, what are you referencing here? Are you, for example, talking about some of the images taken by the HST?Show me pictures, explain scientific explanations, but it still won't prove anything. I'm still curious how we can pick up pictures from so far, still haven't found an answer to that, the distance would cut off communication.
