Yes most are not like that. I've never met them in Holland. We have one who has a house worth 70k, he gets slandered for it. Here some think it's normal if a pastor goes to the food bank. Most pastors here have a secular job. That's the other extreme, we thus have not many good ministries here if you need help. Noone can work for nothing and if they're too stingy to give you can't expect great Bible studies and counselling.
 
there has always been corrupt churches. no different now than it ever was.
i remember watching one of those history channel shows and them making a comment about some rich guy back in the day, one of his perks he bought himself was membership in one of the more fashionable/prestigious churches of NYC. i thought it sounded strange.

Even a shack on the wrong side of the tracks will sell for over a million, and perfectly fine houses in good neighbourhoods sell for multiple millions and are then torn down to build a mega house that takes up every centimeter allowed by the building codes and bylaws for the area. They might then sit empty for years.

This type of house is accepted for a Dutch pastor. He must not think that he is any better than the rest.

The world will know TRUE Christians by their love. John 13:35. And that same lost world will know the hypoctites by their lack of love. You CANNOT fool a watching world. They are repulsed by the sick money mad church and rightly so. Then you wonder why it's so hard to get someone saved. It's not rocket science.

First thing I tell them is RUN...RUN as fast as you can away from the wolf that demands the anti Christ tithe. Hypocrite thief.

Then I would help them. Id tell them to 'stop going to church'. That is NOT THE assembly God ordained. It's a DEN OF THIEVES with blind enablers.

In a word, my job, and yours, is to set captives free. Jesus came the first time setting the poor free from corrupt religion in Jerusalem. Some things never change....do they?

FYI Jesus sets the captive free not I nor you. We are to preach the gospel and testify of His works. If you do not feel led to give then don't :) God said He likes a Cheerful Giver. at our Church we do not take and offering ... we receive and offering of the wiling to give not the mandatory to give, just like we do not worship the pastor we pray for him :)

Did he build the house? It looks nicer than a row house, for sure. And 70K is a lot, depending on the cost of living. The cost of living just keeps going up and up here, while our wages just sit there and shrink over time. Except the minimum wage. Then everything else must go up, too, except my wage LOL.

God uses Pastors to help people both physically and Spirituality.

You really need to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior!

It is easier for an atheist to be smarter then a Christian, apart from the fact that we believe in God , and they don't. And that may be more a faith based decision then a intellectual one.
Lets face it, they only need to common sense, which is worldly, and, well, common. Just enough sense to ask probing questions to some things which, while they can't prove us wrong, we can't prove them wrong either. Anyone with even half a brain and some cynicism can do that.
Our wisdom and intellect come from identifying ourselves with God, with having a mind of the things of God. There is untold reward in that, but it is a lot of work and discipline and prayer and sacrifice.
That is not so common in the world.

When I was about 4 years old, visiting the grandparents,
in their little coal-mining town, the outhouse was the bathroom.

I had to go. It was night, dark,
I was a skinny little kid and nearly fell in.
Scared the bjeepers outta me!

I did my best to hold it in for the rest of the weekend visit.
Fortunately, they kept a chamberpot, too, for emergencies, Lol.

But that outhouse was the 'bathroom' for my dad, and his siblings,
and mom and dad. The whole fourteen of them.

It actually was a two-seater. (Not what you think, though. Lol.)
There was a smaller hole for the tots, but I didn't know it,
and I sat on the wrong one.
I thought the earth was going to swallow me down to a stinky death.
No wonder I had nightmares as a kid.
(Still do, sometimes :( ).

They also had to hand pump their water into the house.
And they cooked on the house-heater...
Or they heated the house with the oven.....?
Either way. It was a coal stove, for cooking AND heating!

But all that was a blessing.

Common sense? Atheists have common sense? I seriously doubt it! They try to reason against God by appealing to reason, but don't realise that they can only try to refute Him because God is reasonable and logical and He created an orderly, reasonable, logical creation. They get angry at the injustices in the world but believe truth is relative and that good and evil don't exist. They rage against God and getting Him involved in the scientific method, but don't admit that science as a discipline only came about because people who believed in the Christian God believed that it was their mandate to explore His creation. The scientific method is a Christian discovery!
 
Why then did Jesus put the Apostles in charge of running the Church? If God was against the Pastor running the Church He would not have put the Apostles in charge of the Church!

Sounds to me you Sir are not a True Christian but instead are a wolf is sheep clothing trying to destroy the True Church from God.

you think common sense is based on if we think God is real or not? if one touches a hot object most people know not to touch it again for fear of being burned that is common sense, common knowledge and understanding is something we humans are built with. I can see the frustration in your words here but if we put down atheists because we find it ridiculous that they don't believe in God we are doing the exact same thing they are doing as they put down Christians and claim we don't have common sense because we believe in God that doesn't sound like we being apart from the world to me it sounds like we are being just like the world.

It may seem idiotic that atheists and scientists find the existence of God to be dumb to some who call themselves Christians but was there not a point in which we were not saved as well? Ours is not to cut down or to mock or to think ourselves any better than them ours is to show patience and love humbleness and grace regardless how their swords pierce us

Indeed:) God uses even his enemies for his will. i never listened to this man so I don't have any stance on his being a true Christian or not but no doubt God has used him regardless.
