There is a church member attending our church from time to time drinking heavely
He disrupts sunday school and uses unacceptable language not swearing but bad language
He has been talked to regarding this but it is continuing this behavior
He lives in a small 1 room house on our pastors property and has for several yrs
It seems as tho nobody wants to take measures to stop this behavior who has the authority to do so
The majority of the congregation including myself has mentioned this to the pastor and elders but this continues to happen
Any comment or suggestions or experiences of this nature would be greatly appreciated
God Bless

I think it's sad that this guy got drinking problems and brings it to church. Maybe this guy can be reached when he's sober and be taken into rehab; a group of people of the church can do it, it doesn't necesarilty have to be the pastor or the workers. It's important for people to step up for their own church and make the decision to help this guy out; it would be kind of ironic to come to church to hear sermons about helping our brothers and sisters but not really do anything about it when the oportunity shows up.

Hi Henry
We have tried offering help but he says he doesn't have a problem with alcohol and gets very defensive and angry
He has been in rehab twice ,He admitted it
Thanks for your reply Henry
God Bless

God is the only one who can change him because while he doesn't admit he has a problem ,nothing human can change him even rehab,,just God's power can do something. so I suggest, Pray God to change that situation and just wait .

Blessings xo ♥

Hi

Continue to love him but start by telling him that as long as he drinks and misbehaves inside the church, the usher has the right to take him out and stop him from coming in, even to the extent of calling the police (as a last resort).

Sometimes, love means making a tough stand and you will be surprised that the offender will wake up. IN the mean time, continue to help him.
