Reading through many of these threads it often appears that there are a lot of ladies and gents who aren't sure how to let someone they like know that they are interested without appearing too aggressive or stalkeresque. 'Thought it might be fun to share some non-sophomoric ways that we have either let someone know this or have had someone let us know they were interested in us as inspiration to those who might be less outgoing or less experienced in this department. Might also be a a fun read, huh? :)

Sweetest example that comes to mind from a couple of years ago while I was studying for my Master's:

Guy learned through casual group conversation that the lady he is interested in loves strawberries. At the next class, the guy sat down at a table across from the lady, smiled and set a beautiful large bowl of fresh strawberries in front of her, then explained that he couldn't pass up an opportunity to show off an antique bowl he'd purchased.

Lady thinks:
a. incredibly sweet!!!
b. great smile
c. STRAWBERRIES!!!!
d. this big, burly guy likes to wander around looking at antiques

Would love to hear from others :) Remember to it clean tho! ;) haha

So there I was in a Country Bar/club in San Diego called "Incahoots" trying to teach 6 swiss girls how to line dance in my bad German and their broken English. These girls were tourists and under the impression that All American guys knew how to line dance. They had kidnapped me for the evening to be their guide to America because I said hello as they were walking downtown earlier. Coincidentally I spoke enough German that I became a valuable hostage. Anyways, I'm on this dance floor and suddenly this girl who works with me at our Church's Homeless Ministry appears out of nowhere to teach all of us how to line dance. Well, come to find out, the kidnapping was staged and this was all her idea of getting me someplace out of my element where she could teach me something I didn't know and tell me that she thought I was cute. I was very flattered by how elaborate the whole arrangement was.

She pandered to the fact that I knew a little German.
She knew I would have a rough time saying no to 6 lady tourists.
She also knew I didn't know how to line dance and this would give her some advantage.

Ok, those are nice things when they are in person, but lets say there is a little somethin somethin you want to get to know in cc chat........how do you do it over the fiber optics? That is the real question.................

You pray that she doesn't read the forums and see that she was referred to as "a little somethin somethin" :)

Homer, I think you just read a girl's words and listen, listen, listen, to what she is really saying. Pray to God too, of course, for He will open your ears in a right way so you can truly hear her.:)

Yes, I danced all thru college, GREAT way to meet a girl, just make sure you go with God there, be yourself and let the Lord lead, I think a cross necklace is a great attention getter too. Strawberry fields forever, remember to sing that song to a strawberry loving girl too. :)

Really?
I got nothin.

I'm outta here.

Hmmm...online...

Well, maybe you could send someone a link to a song expressing what you'd like to say if you can't find words of your own, a poem or even a recording of yourself reading the poem, a funny cartoon....

What? No spitwat shooting at the object of your affection? No love notes in her locker? No singing outside of her window? No walking over to her table with a milkshake with two straws in it? No sending your wingman over first to see if she bites?

Well, gum in her hair always worked for me...you can throw it from a distance so you don't have to actually TALK to the girl.

If I REALLY like someone? I move on to headlocks and noogies...
