Probably... haha.

I'm sure if you guys ask & apologise for your rebellion a few hundred years ago the queen will accept you back. :D

No thanks. We're much too busy trying to avoid ending up with a dictator to worry about what the Queen thinks of us.

My mistake we do have a number of species of jumping spiders BUT to be fair, jumping spiders live in every part of the world except icy lands like the North and South Pole. So it's not a good excuse to not visit!
We don't have any. Our spiders crawl and use webbing as ways of transport. Dock spiders are pretty big and gross looking but they're only found near lakes and the woods.

Really, Arwen? Okay, Canada might be another one.
As for snakes, I can't help you there. We have a butt-load of the most deadly snake species in the world and most of the poisonous snake varieties. We also non-poisonous snakes. I'm okay with non-poisonous ones though.

It's not the spiders so much it's these things (Way too many and too many different types) EWWWW

You can throw that idea right out the window! The American revolution was a act of GOD almighty against a evil empire.

True but gun laws are very tight in Australia. Collectors, sports people and farmers can own them but there's some red tape. Most of the time you have to use a shovel to kill them (the snakes - not the collectors, farmers etc). That's a lot freakier than using a gun. You're up close and they're viscous beggars (I haven't done it but I've seen dad and some rellies kill them when they get to close to children and houses). Wait, I'm meant to be promoting Australia, aren't I? That's not exactly helping matters! :)

A Taurus judge loaded with 410 shot is perfect for snakes! nothing wrong with a little overkill when it comes to them nasty buggers.

On my last range trip, I rented a S&W Governor (same as the Judge)...it was a blast to shoot. Literally.
(grin)

A Taurus you say. Hmmm... I think someone mentioned to me at one time that something in the trigger doesn't hold up as well. Or something about the Taurus. What do you think of the Bersa's?

You're probably talking the Bersa Thunder in 380 (the most common one)...I've never shot/owned one, but I've heard they're good. As far as Taurus, from what I've heard, if you get a good one, you've got a great one. If you get a bad one and have to send it back for repair, Taurus' customer service dept supposedly isn't good at all.

I tend to stick with the American-made brands...Ruger tends to be my favorite. I've got a new Ruger LC380 (same size as the Bersa, but in a modern, polymer-framed pistol, versus the Bersa's metal frame) on layaway.... yes, you can actually put guns on layaway (at least here in Kentucky).

Whatever you get, if anything, put a couple-hundred rounds through it at the range, and you'll know if you've got a good one or not.

aka Merchants rebellion... Read some serious history books and you will learn a lot. :)

But yes... it was an act of God, everything is, is it not?

Also the British Empire wasn't too bad as far as empires go...

We also haven't had a major gun massacre since those gun control legislations were brought in.... America on the other hand seems to have them every few months. The legislation has to change. The constitution has to change, the particular amendment was put there how many years ago? It isn't a sacred text... the situation has changed. America is no longer under any significant threat, and no longer needs this particular amendment.

The argument may be it is a persons liberty to own a gun? And they should be able to.. subject to proper background checks and with a legitimate reason for it.

If the end pursuit is liberty, I must ask, where is the liberty for those who live in fear of Gun violence, because guns ownership is not controlled? Where is the liberty of the hundreds of people killed by gun violence?

Changing the legislation won't fix the problem. There is so much more than needs to happen, but it will help and it will be a start...

Just for the record... I enjoy shooting & my Dad owns a gun, hahaha - he does, however, need to be involved with the rifle club to own it, and it needs to be locked in a safe when not in use, where it cannot be reached by those who could use it for harm.

It's clear you don't understand what the Bill of Rights are. The rights were not put there by man.

Contrary to what you've been told we do not have mass shootings as often as you think. The media will make it look that way. They will also make things up.

People are not living in America terrified they'll get shot.

Also, you're comment about your dad locking up his gun, well we Americans do that too. I lock up mine and hide the key. Yet you seem to think locking a gun up will prevent a criminal from using one. It won't. The the CT shooter stole his mothers guns and they were locked up.

You cannot prevent evil in people, and you cannot punish the innocent because of the illegal motives of criminals.
Gun ownership is controlled by the way. Not everyone can purchase a firearm.

No offense, but you don't live in America so you don't truly understand the whole issue. All you know is what biased media. Stations tell you.

Controlling gun ownership would entirely defeat the purpose of why the amendment is there. It's not there for hunting or for sportsmanship......it's primarily there for overthrowing the government if it becomes necessary. Hard to do that when your unarmed/the government tells you whether you can own a gun or not. Even if all guns where banned and inaccessible....it's not that hard to cause mayhem. Gasoline is sold everywhere, you can make explosives with it easy. You don't even need to show ID or be 18 to buy a lot of explosive/flammable materials. There's plenty of ways to engage in destruction/murder without the use of a firearm at all. It's not gonna take away a crazy persons ability to do harm

I don't like guns myself and wouldn't shoot somebody even in self defense but I just think it's funny that you have to break the law in order to ban them. Most of the controls already in place are technically illegal

Stuey, it's not gun laws or constitution that has to change. We have an over abundance of gun laws. What needs to change is the enforcement of gun laws. Believe or not, the vast majority of legal gun owners don't commit the crimes. The ones who don't own them legally, are the one who generally commit the crimes.

As for threat against tyranny, that is also subject to point of view, as there are many who feel that Obama is planning to use Marshall Law as a means to stay in power.
