Do you know your authority IN CHRIST?
The bible says that the enemy roams around LIKE a roaring lion. He isnt a roaring lion but he is a liar who wants to kill, steal, and destroy. But YOU have authority over his evil deeds. Do you know how to walk in that?
I thought I was wise to the enemies tricks lies but I went through a season where he was beating me up pretty badly. God has shown me that I need to return to the bold ,kick the enemies butt, yielding the sword person I once was. I am back! But I need to marinate in his word about this subject. I have authority in Jesus! I have victory in Jesus!!
Jesus said, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). That is a great deal of authority! How is it, then, that the devil is able to keep causing believers so much trouble? It is because many do not exercise the authority God has given them. They are not walking in the understanding that, even though Jesus won the victory, they need to enforce that victory in their daily lives.
God tells us : 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Know this: those who have victory are not those who have no struggles, but those who persist and keep going forward. Without our struggles, there would be no need for the power to overcome them. No one walks in authority by following a formula; it is about a realization of who the enemy is, and it is about knowing who you are and what you have been given in Christ.
The real enemy is not family,friends, people on this forum, coworkers etc...but it is: Ephesians 6:12 says, “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” The devil is the real enemy!
Can we bring forth scripture and knowledge on this in discussion so that we may all be wiser in our walk and take up/keep up the authority that Christ has given us IN HIM? I would like to hear your stories and how you came to know your authority!!
In the meantime, my precious savior put this song on my spirit . I found a blues version and I am just loving it! ummhmmm There is NOTHING that compares to praising the King..............
