Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

As we live moment to moment, Lanie seems to have more good moments than bad right now. She has been happier this week. She is slowly beginning to get her appetite back, but she still throws up some. Thankfully she is on the IV nutrition, so she gets the nutrition and calories she needs. She is finally sleeping better. Instead of being up every hour or couple hours, she is up about every 4 hours. She is feeling well enough right now that she is fighting naps. That hasn't happened since before she was sick. Usually she is begging to go "night night." She continues to be more mobile even to the point of not asking for wagon rides as often. She is still nervous to walk alone, but even the physical therapist said that she was looking steadier.

We will see her doctor today for a check up. The eye doctor tomorrow. And what I am trying not to be anxious about, the MRI on Monday.

Thankyou so much for the update! :)
How good is Jesus Christ Our Lord that His loving hand is upon Lanie.
I continue to pray in Jesus for her healing with praise and thanksgiving.

God bless.

Blessing Update:

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence (Mother Teresa)." After waiting to meet with the doctor for twenty minutes, the noise of the worrying and wondering left and I was met with the silence. In that silence, I could feel the peace pass through my heart and mind, God's peace. The shaking nerves, the rapid heart beat were gone and replaced with calm. Then we saw the doctor and he called us back. He said the scans look the same as last month (Praise the Lord!). Immediately pent up tears of worry filled our eyes. He said the cancer is holding (Hallelujah). The doctor was amazed and encouraged by how good Lanie is doing. She is meeting so many milestones like walking and moving even laughing. So we continue on with this same chemo for another month and possibly up to three more months. Thanks for all the prayers! We praise God for all that he is doing in Lanie, in our hearts and in your hearts. Well I better go catch up with Brandon, Lanie and Amy (my sister), Shawn White the Olympic snowboarder is here to meet with the kids.

Thank you God! I am still praying for you and your family. Thank you for updating us! This is great news. I pray that Lanie continues to get better.

Last night the fireworks I could see out my window were a beautiful ending to a couple of rotten days. On Wednesday, we came to our appointments ready to be admitted for chemo to start on Thursday. We had to wait for all our appointments because everything was behind. Then Lanie began to get so cranky and sick to her stomach because it was time for her medicine but of course I didn't bring it because I thought either we would be back at the target house for a nap before being admitted or we would be admitted and she would get the medicine then..But once we finally saw the doctor, she said that we were going to do the first two days out patient and then in patient over the weekend because she knew that Lanie loved not being in the hospital. After a little frustration from being told something different the day before, we went to the target house and tried to relax. On Thursday we came to the Medicine Room, which is similar to an ER in a way, this is where Lanie was to get her chemo. Well when I got her schedule it said that she was to be in the Med room from 8:00-4:00...in the same room. Let me tell you it was torture for Lanie and to make matters worse she was so sick! She threw up almost 10 times between 8 and 4. Amy and I were so exhausted. I finally talked to a nurse about being admitted because I didn't want to take Lanie back to target house so sick. Luckily they went ahead and admitted Lanie. Immediately the nurse gave her some medicine and within an hour she wasn't throwing up. She kept some supper down and the greatest kicker is that she slept ALL night. This was probably the first time in months! It felt soooooo good. Today went MUCH better. Lanie was able to leave the room as long as we stayed on the second floor, so she got to roam all she wanted and LOVED it. She didn't throw up until this evening and that was only a couple of times. We are definitely in good hands. So thankful they listened to my concerns.

Lanie continues to get stronger. She walked the halls today more than she rode in the wagon. It is amazing. The nurses are so amazed too. They can't get over how active, playful, and loving she is. A different child than they saw just a month ago. She is more her active self. Now we are just working on the talking. She isn't talking much. Each day she says a new word, but it is like she is learning all over again...well, sort of like how she had to learn to walk again.

Even after a good night's rest and a nice nap this afternoon, I am physically and emotionally exhausted. I am praying for refreshment. I read this verse just the other day...I wrote it on a notecard to carry with me and read when I need to and I pray it over Lanie. Isaiah 46:4 "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."

Continueing to pray for Lanie, you and family in Jesus Christ is Lord!
We praise you and thankyou Father for all that is Your perfect care in Jesus Christ Our Lord!

Hugs and God bless.

New Up date On little Lanie

We are enjoying the fourth of July listening to the nearby fireworks from our apartment. Lanie finished her chemotherapy today for the month. We didn't think we would be here tonight not just because we thought we would be in the hospital, but also because our apartment was flooded. On Saturday when Brandon got back to Memphis from a short trip home, he came to the apartment to pack up to stay at the hospital. Well when he got here he found a flood! Water had filled the sink and was flowing over onto the floor into the spare bedroom and the living room. What a mess! Luckily a plummer was called and the water was stopped (it was coming up from the drain). The apartment was cleaned before we got here today. We were afraid we would have to move apartments, but they cleaned it up for us, so that it would be fit for us to stay. So now we are here and relaxing! Kelly, Travis and their girls are in Memphis. For her 8th birthday last month Isabelle asked to see Lanie. They are here on a birthday trip. Tonight as we left the hospital, Sophia who is 3 almost 4 asked Kelly, "So Lanie is leaving the hospital with her tumor?" Kelly tried to explain that the doctor took the big tumor out. Sophia argued, "No mom I saw it right here (pointing to the top of her head)." Then Kelly realized Sophia was talking about the bump from Lanie's shunt.

Last night Brandon and I got to see some fireworks from the hospital window. We were wishing to be home and wishing for last fourth of July before any of this...but then I was reminded of Beth Moore saying, "Stop whining and wishing and start believing and receiving." And so we started believing that next fourth of July will be "normal" (If there is such a thing). When our hearts are right..."then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I." Isaiah 58:9. Sometimes God doesn't give answers (no matter how many times I ask WHY?), but God does give comfort.

Suffering makes us long for our heavenly home. Where there will be no more suffering, no more tears, no more pain. It has also made us long for our home in Missouri. Last week our doctor gave us permission to make a trip home. It was so wonderful to see so many friends and family! We were so encouraged by all of you who are praying. The El Dorado Springs St. Jude 5k Fun Run was so amazing. I was awed by the turn out. It was hard to walk because of all the hugs we were met with. Thank you to all of you who supported St. Judes.

While we were at home I was able to attend my 10 year high school reunion. So many more hugs there with encouraging words from people I figured were too busy in their own lives to worry about ours. But once again we were amazed by all who care. Thank you!

So now we are back in Memphis. Yesterday morning was Lanie's MRI (Thanks for all the prayers!). I was praying asking God to reveal his work in the MRI scans. "Please show healing," I asked him. I felt him say, "Wait, in my time." So in the afternoon we met with the doctor for preliminary results. He said that everything looks the same (which could be discouraging because we want it smaller). But no new growth spots and no spots that have grown bigger is definitely God's work. Two months ago the doctor didn't give us very encouraging results from an MRI and seemed to think she would just get worse. Praise the Lord that isn't the case! While it's not exactly healing yet, God is holding the cancer.

So after the doctor finishes some protocol paperwork for Lanie on Monday because we are no longer on our protocol, then on Tuesday we will most likely be admitted to begin the next round of chemo on Wednesday.

continueing to pray in Jesus.
Thankyou for the hope filled update.

God bless.
