Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
God bless you and all your family! We are enjoying the fourth of July listening to the nearby fireworks from our apartment. Lanie finished her chemotherapy today for the month. We didn't think we would be here tonight not just because we thought we would be in the hospital, but also because our apartment was flooded. On Saturday when Brandon got back to Memphis from a short trip home, he came to the apartment to pack up to stay at the hospital. Well when he got here he found a flood! Water had filled the sink and was flowing over onto the floor into the spare bedroom and the living room. What a mess! Luckily a plummer was called and the water was stopped (it was coming up from the drain). The apartment was cleaned before we got here today. We were afraid we would have to move apartments, but they cleaned it up for us, so that it would be fit for us to stay. So now we are here and relaxing! Kelly, Travis and their girls are in Memphis. For her 8th birthday last month Isabelle asked to see Lanie. They are here on a birthday trip. Tonight as we left the hospital, Sophia who is 3 almost 4 asked Kelly, "So Lanie is leaving the hospital with her tumor?" Kelly tried to explain that the doctor took the big tumor out. Sophia argued, "No mom I saw it right here (pointing to the top of her head)." Then Kelly realized Sophia was talking about the bump from Lanie's shunt.
Last night Brandon and I got to see some fireworks from the hospital window. We were wishing to be home and wishing for last fourth of July before any of this...but then I was reminded of Beth Moore saying, "Stop whining and wishing and start believing and receiving." And so we started believing that next fourth of July will be "normal" (If there is such a thing). When our hearts are right..."then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I." Isaiah 58:9. Sometimes God doesn't give answers (no matter how many times I ask WHY?), but God does give comfort.
