I will try the cheese but not gonna work for backpacking, can't keep cold without extra weight.
Basics:
Peanutbutter, crackers, trail mix (raisins, nuts, dried fruit, granola crunchs, etc to taste), cheeses that don't need to stay cold (normally wrapped in wax)
We had a few meals and added the meat later is that our vegetarians could eat.
Example: mac& cheese & instant potatoes (meat was spam and summer sausages)
Ramen noodles
My husband and son liked the CousCous recipe that had freeze dried veggies, Italian spices, freeze dried chicken (which we could vacuum seal in a separate bag)
We can try the chicken Alfredo (uses evaporated milk)
Or the spicy chicken and rice ( just package chicken separately)
I was thinking maybe adapt a curry or stirfry recipe to use similar seasoning but dried or freeze dried veggies to cut down on weight?
