Bakers refuse gay couple for wedding cake - is this a Christian response?

I'm curious to see how this turns out. Will freedom of religion triumph in this case or discrimination against gay couples triumph.

I believe the case is over. The owners of the cake shop lost their business and a fine of 135,000 dollars
Thank God we have the ultimate victory in Jesus Christ because democrats will not allow Christianity to be triumphant on this side of Heaven as long as they're in charge.
That was extreme! I didn't realize that was the final outcome. I hope that gay couple is satisfied!
I was just curios what your thoughts on this would be. Do you think the majority of Christians when confronted with having to make a decision like this will choose carnal mindedness or spiritual mindedness,what if they are thinking about providing for their children?
Do we trust GOD to make a way because we trusted him or would we try to do what we think is best for us and hope GOD understands?
Oh man I swore I'd never come back to this place, get your heads out of the sand people, if you are in business you can not discriminate on any grounds, you can't serve white people only you can't discriminate against gay people, don't like business laws? then get out or do something else non profit you simple minded people. There is religious freedom you fools.
Could this possibly fall under "Give unto Caesar the things belonging to.....?"
I might have made the cake - I just don't call it a "wedding" cake and would not use those words as I delivered it. As I said before in another posting, this is just a legal contract the government calls a marriage. Just a word. It is just a cake celebrating their legal contract in my eyes.
They are already getting married - nothing you can do will stop it. Why not at least show mercy? Mercy is called mercy because it is given to the ones who deserve it the least. If, in your eyes, these people do not deserve a wedding cake, do it for mercy's sake.
By withholding the cake, you would not be changing the laws one bit. Or even influencing the couple in any way other than negatively.
It is just a cake.

The homosexuals will never be satisfied with these victories. They'll only be satisfied when all religions and all people "affirm" and "celebrate" the homosexual lifestyle.

Actually when I was a business owner I had a statement at the front door saying I could refuse service to anyone. I ran a martial arts studio and I wasn't about to teach martial arts to someone who was a felon. Was I discriminating against them or actually being responsible? I also feel that being racist is totally different than doing what is right for your faith. I will throw this scenario out.
A man walks into your store and states he wants you to make him a cake to celebrate that he was going to cheat on his wife in two days. Would you bake him this cake?

Granted the rape is illegal but it goes along with your beliefs. As a Christian we don't condone Rape or Cheating on someone's spouse. So if someone claims they are willing to bake the cake for the Homosexual then they can't possibly refuse the cake to the rapist or the adulterer.
I for one would have refused to celebrate their wedding by baking the cake. I would have taken the time to witness to them and tell them about Christ. Everything after that is in Gods hands.
how about this, here in the u.s. anyway, : let's say I owned a business and told a muslim employee that he/she only got two breaks and a lunch in a workday. they cannot stop work to pray the 5 times their religion says. would that fly??? so clear anti-Christian agenda. not anti-religion. anti-Christian.

From what I understand about the recent supreme court ruling on gay marriage; no individual can be forced to perform any duty in a gay wedding they feel goes against their religious freedom. If this is true the bakery will win eventually. That even means court clerks can deny creating a marriage license if my understanding is right on this. This doesn't mean that gay people won't find a clerk to build a license, but just that individual doesn't have to prepare it themselves.
However, I don't think there is a provision in there against retribution towards the one with the religious objection either. But I haven't read it all either, nor did I fully understand that part I did read....

If I was a secularist then yes because I wouldn't give a monkeys because I'm only in it for the money although I might really enjoy baking. I also don't have any ultimate authority to answer to, except of course abiding by the law of the land.

Now, is denying them services a "Christian" response? I don't know? On one hand we're not to support sin. On the other hand we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Soooo ummmmm Not positive. Business isn't personal, so again it could go both ways. so ummmmmm I dunno?
Those who are in the business of providing services for marriages need to start getting a lot smarter if they are going to stay in business.

Did they sue me because I was too busy? No. They called someone else. Theres always someone else that would be more than happy to gain those customers you don't want.
