And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire,
and it sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
there in more contextual understanding of about 120 as Acts 1 states then there is just the 12 speaking. And spoke in more than 12 languges recorded in Acts 2:9-11 which they were people from many religions this would explain how so many were saved .
