The ritual of water baptism is a work done by man. Baptism in the name of the Holy Spirit is a work performed by Jesus Christ when you get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ by believing. Those that believe have repented of their sins and have been baptized in the name of the Father because it is He that grants the repentance necessary that leads to salvation.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” - Romans 10:13

What part of Romans 10:13 do you have a problem with?

Do you have a problem with John 3:16?

Do you have a problem with John 14:6?

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 14:6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the with life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
No problem with Romans, or Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, Mark 16:15-16, and a whole lot of other scriptures that add other requirements to Romans. What part of them do YOU have a problem with? All them apparently, in their entirety.

You're at odds with scripture. Water baptism is absolutely necessary for salvation.

1 Peter 3:21

21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Acts 22:16

16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
What puts away the dirt of the flesh? Its a water, hence, Peter is not in reference to a a water baptism.

You are not reading or understanding the scripture correctly. Baptism has nothing at all to do with cleansing flesh, that's what it means in the part that's in parenthesis. Baptism washes sin not flesh and sin is a stain against your soul not your body. So yes, Peter is NOT making a reference to immersion in water (baptism) to wash the body but rather immersion in water, into Christ, to wash sins. No difference then as stated or inferred by Acts 2:38 or Acts 22:16.

You are right. Water baptism in and of itself does not save. Salvation involves belief and obedience to the entire gospel message.

God is awesome. As I began to respond He revealed the connection between two verses. In the verse you quoted, Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice AND open the door I WILL COME IN TO HIM..." This parallels exactly what happened first at Pentecost. Hearts were pricked. (Jesus knocked) The command to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus, although spoken by Peter, came directly from Jesus via His Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:2) Those who heard and obeyed were given the promise of receiving the Holy Ghost. (being indwelt)

"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls." Acts 2:37-42

really good stuff

yes Peter is talking about how when I’m a sinner and I hear Jesus died for my sins and the. I hear about baptism into Christ who died for my sins it cleanses my own conscience of sin knowing I have done what God said to do and he will remit my sins

this should impact a bekievers conscience I should t get baptized and then consider myself a guilty sinner who’s done too much wrong to be saved ……that’s the reason I want to get baptized and have them remitted according to what God said which is “ repent and be baptized in Jesus name for remission of sins “

when I do this it’s a witness to my conscience that I died with Christ for my sins sin requires death now the payment was made by Jesus and through baptism my conscience should believe my sins are remitted and also that I’ve received the holy spirit of Jesus within myself to be with me always I just now need to learn how to hear and follow after him

“The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we get baptized for remission of our sins in Jesus name it is a witness to our conscience we can draw upon to know our sins really are remitted God sees us as new and clean and he’s patient and willing to teach and forebear with us while we learn

Anytime a man obeys what God told us to do and he would give us a reward , it’s always going to be true when we get baptized ot should cleanse our conscience of our past d it’s because we’ve actually believed Gods word of the gospel and obeyed him because we sinners want our sins taken away we know they are leading us to death and want a new life with Christ we heard and believed what Jesus was preaching about God and man about salvation in his eternal kingdom

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

And there went out unto him all the land of Judæa, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. and preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.

I indeed have baptized you with water:

but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1, 4-5, 7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now after that John was put in prison,

Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16, 20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The church

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people.

And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38-39, 41-47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;( that’s our nt scripture ) that the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:5-7‬ ‭

baptism for remission of sins is part of the promise

To God be the glory! As the post indicates the revelation came as I was typing a response. All I can say is, Wow. There is nothing more rewarding than having truth revealed directly by the Holy Spirit of God.

We can’t look at the gospel like until I’ve obeyed everything Jesus said I’m not acceptable to him. Because when we come to Jesus we don’t even know what he said to do yet or to stop doing the first step for any believer once they hear about Jesus dying for thier sins , is to get baptized for remission of sins in his name who died for our sins

But before I run to get baptized I need to hear about his atoning sacrifice provided for the sins I’ve done this is why I then will want to get baptized in his name who died for my sins

See when a person doesn’t read Paul just a verse or two and then try to explain it look what he’s saying about baptism and what he’s telling us to believe about baptism and how that remits our sins because death is only a product of sin

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:1-4, 6-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if we just take in what Paul’s saying there and let that be true in our thinking it’s going to build that very faith that sets us free

awe should think about baptism like the Bible says about it like above there or like this which is also the other part of baptism after we die we are raised up new to a new life with a new spirit

So you have this which is why we are buried beneath water

We believe this but we have to first hear it and someone has to say “ hey look what the Bible just actually says on its own about this subject or that subject “

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;”( Isaiah 53)
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

aid we believe this declaration then we want to get baptized in his name for remission of our sins but we need to hear the doctrine that’s already written down the apostles are revealing it to us e revelation and fulfillment of the ot is the nt

“in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s also the raising up out of the water being his name pronounced over us this now where this part th is north comes in

“For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek,( we’re not under the old anymore ) there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We’re born again as the children of God as Abraham’s promised seed because the seed is Christ and we put his identity on when we’re lifted up and a man of God professes Jesus name over us we both die and are raised through one act ofnGods grace and mercy towards us and all we have to do is hear and believe it and act because of that

Then it becomes about discipleship . A disciple isn’t perfect they are flawed that’s why they need a teacher and why he sent his teachings to all
Nations in the gospel

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:27-30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

a disciple needs to learn and grow and practice things from thier “ rabbi “ or “teacher “ Jesus is the teacher fornus all thats why the gospels came to all of us

Jesus is patient when we really give him our dedication and heart to just listen to what he was teaching about God , mankind , death and life eternal hell heaven the kingdom of God where we will all come together as one family without sin and death in his presence forever

what im saying is we need to focus on hearing what the word says and he’ll teach us to repent and obey him his way through his patience and grace and ways of reassuring and also warning of sin accepting first the sinner fully and then loving and teaching them guiding them into repentance and life as they grow up in him the church is struggling now because everyone seems to have thier own versions of the truth but the Bible states it all plainly and bids us to hear and believe so we can know and share

you always have good insight brother I think anyways I think of every day average Christian’s would just really pray and study the Bible and ask God to teach them what he really said about salvation they will receive that understandong of the persever and take it seriously as of the lord was telling us the truth about everlasting life and damnation
