Right. Which is why people should follow scripture and not various idealogues who seem to have an opinion on what everyone else should do and they will argue their case ad infinitum using scripture taken out of context or scripture from the Old Testament and say it still applies.

In other words, I would never follow what you say having studied both testaments and seeing as I understand that scripture does not agree with your conclusions.

Thanks. I had never heard of Gene Scott before I read his name on this thread.

I remember a few years ago when I was in school we learned about Gene Scott in our religious studies lessons. He was a controversial and popular Pastor. Would probably be big on social media if he was still alive.

He was very hypocritical wasn't he and quite mad/aggressive with his speading the word of god. More hate than love I would say.

I didn't know him, and never saw him in person, but I couldn't get enough his teachings of the word of God.

I do know that one of the things he hated was how preachers would present themselves as a template of how the congregation should want to emulate. Like, "look at me and how perfect God has made me."

So he went 180 degrees in the opposite direction. He would present himself as an example of a sinner that needed salvation. Over time he seemed to perfect and learn to use this as a teaching tool to manage his flock.

Smoking cigars while teaching, the funny glasses, the aggressive nature, all these things became a part of his teaching methods. If you couldn't get past the cigars, the aggressive nature, the porn stars in the front row, then he knew you could never hear the messages he had from God. This is how he cullled the flock, and it was very effective.

All this from one of the few who could see the teaching outweighed any crazy gimmick he would come up with. And that behind those gimmicks awaits by far the greatest Bible scholar God has ever created, by a long shot. I've never seen anyone even close to his level of teaching. He broke the mold of the sinless preacher.

He was such a good teacher, the methods of culling out the non hearers are still working today, 21 years after his graduation.

1) Every sin, past , present, and future was laid on Christ.

2) Christ specified He would be in the tomb 3 days and 3 nights.

3) Christ died Wednesday at sundown, and arose Saturday at sundown.

4) There are 3 messages preached by the disciples..... 1) He arose. 2) He ascended. 3) The tomb was empty.

How did i arrived at 3 is your big question right?
It's not explained in a post. Prophecies, understanding the Jewish feast days are involved, understanding Jewish traditions are involved.

The understanding of todays church thinking today is good Friday, or the day Jesus was crucified and buried is completely wrong.

The Jewish day begins at sundown.

So you have 3 days and 3 nights.

And all this has to happen without Jesus breaking a feast day. Which Wednesday at sundown began the feast of trumpets.

Someone my instructor trusted did research on what other year God could have done this 3 day and 3 night crucifixion and burial without breaking a feast day. It couldn't have been done 1200 years before, and 1200 years after that specific week. He called it, God just showing off.

I wouldn't let this dampen your love for the Easter week. The important thing is your thinking about Him.

Jesus gave up the ghost in the 9th hr. Approximately 3pm the same time the sin offering was offered in the temple.
The body was placed in the tomb before sundown according to Jewish tradition.
This is what is ment that he died according to scripture...being the lamb of God. Even pilate was surprised of the sudden death.
Which fulfilled prophecy....not a bone shall be broken therefore a spear was used to asure the death.

There are some here that say Jesus was murdered, if you see the crucifixion in a secular way I guess you can come to this conclusion.
But if you see it through the eyes of the Torah and Jewish traditions you see it as a sacrifice.
Surprisely most people that say murdered are the same that are against modern day israel in one way or another.

I try and look at everything through the eyes of God.

I've never come across anyone who says Christ was murdered. He could have called legions of angels to stop it at any time.

God gave His Son, His Son gave His life, and it's up to us to offer our lives to Him all day every day.

I guess you could look at it from a carnal perspective like you said, but that would be a half measure.
