If u like me , believe every word of scripture is profitable to us , then that must mean that it all applies to us ( more the new testament than the old wth the law of Moses ) So , when Jesus admonishes anyone we need to hear that admonision as if it was directed to us . Example Matthew chapter 12 verse 39 but better still Matthew chapter 6 verses 1-4 . This makes it clear that they / we are not to seek signs from heaven , to my mind this would b akin to tempting God but that's just my opinion . That's not to say that God doesn't give us signs , in His own good time when He knows it's appropriate for us , a comfort , something that we might desperately need to help us get through a very tough time . This for sure has happened to me many times , just beautiful little details that have fallen so perfectly in my life , little but deeply appreciated and very precious gifts from God , just when I have needed to b even more aware than usual of His love and mercy in my life . I would personally advise any fellow Christian not to seek signs from God . He knows our needs , He will bless us with eyes to see and ears to hear Him when He knows we need Him the most .
In my prayers I often ask God , ' please , continue to allow me to see You and Your wonderful lovingkindnesses , in my life , in the lives of others and throughout your beautiful creation every day . If it is Your Will Dear Heavenly Father . Amen .
Much love to u all in Christ .

While Jesus taught many things that were universally true, he also taught that which was applicable to only Israel. Today if someone is cured of leprosy, he can't go to the temple and show himself to a priest. If we try to make everything apply to us we can make problems for ourselves.

Mat_15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Jesus modeled how we are to live and taught ALL things are new in Him.
We are no longer under the old covenant.
Jesus indwells the believer and would heal through His Own if we walk in relationship and be His hands and feet.
Here is a teaching on growing in Him in this area.

I understand and appreciate your reply to me . I hope u understood my point , which was that , Jesus taught that we shouldn't ask for signs from God , that's not to say that God doesn't ever give us signs , just that we shouldn't ask for them . Read the Matthew references that I gave if I'm still not convincing u . Much love in Christ .

So how do we pick and choose what to accept as for our benefit or reject it ? Paul tells us that all scripture is profitable for our instruction in righteousness and he at that time would have been talking about the Old Testament , how much more then does the new apply to us ? Jesus know that his words would go around the globe to reach every corner of it . Don't u think that it's much much safer for us to assume that everything is for our guidance and instruction rather than to cherry pick what we might think or not think ? Can u think of anything in the new testament that Jesus said , that u don't believe applies to u because u r not Jewish ? Please let me know if u can , I would love to hear your thoughts on this , much love in Christ .

So , if u had some sort of horrible disease or illness and , Jesus himself appeared to u and healed u , wouldn't u go and tell your pastor ? All the members of your congregation ? Your friends and family ? Wouldn't u a least offer the sacrifice of praise and worship and rejoicing to God ?
Remember , the letter kills , it is the Spirit that quickens . The letter may not exactly apply to us as we were not brought up as Jews but , the Spirit of Truth and rejoicing in God , in love , through Christ does I think .

Mar_11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Francis Chan once commented that as a youth he had heard about the mountain moving promise and tried moving a pencil and failed. While his faith was not damaged, one can imagine that a failed promise is enough to cripple faith if not prevent it.

The word of faith people tend to blame the failed healings and prosperity on the lack of faith of the people they instruct.

Healing were necessary for Israel to become a nation of priests. Today God can and does answer prayers, but not on command or all the time.

To extract that which was for Israel and try to apply everything today does God a disservice.

I don't believe Jesus was talking about a physical mountain , remember he spoke in parables ? What is a mountain to u ? To me it's a big problem in my way , I can ask God to help me solve the problem and , if He is willing , that mountain will b removed .
I never heard of an Israelite being able to move a physical mountain did u ? Only God can do that , not any human , this is how we can recognise that Jesus is speaking in parables , as he himself explains . Jesus speaks in parables and God gives His children ears to hear and eyes to c and a mind and Spirit to understand the parable . God bless u .

Precious friend, I have found for me, God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided solves all
of the confusion I use to have, so, I ask others to think about:

I have decided to follow Jesus?

To find out which of God's Program we should follow?

But, that's just me...

Amen.

Just be aware of evil, God teaches us all that, those he has made new in his love and mercy of Son for them that have accepted this amazing grace, given them. The new begins to learn new from and rest from all the ills of in this world still, thank you Suze
