Don't forget to put up your spiritual protection--re-engage the armor of God, shield of faith, and sword of the spirit. You are about to leave your fortified environment and enter into the world. Don't go unprepared.

When you get home spiritually cleanse yourselves, anything you received from others and rebuke any evil that would try to cling to you and make it's way into your home.

This is good advice. After my husband spent a night at a buddy's house, he came home in a foul mood that got progressively worse over the next 3 days. He brought something evil home. After engaging in the steps above, problem was solved.

• not just coolant - check all your fluids
  oil, brake fluid, power steering, transmission fluid ((if applicable, some cars have sealed transmissions))
• don't drive in freezing temps with 'summer' tires
• bring a cash reserve - not in your purse or wallet, they might be stolen - in case of emergency
• keep a blanket and/or a warm coat in the event you're stranded by a breakdown or accident in the cold
• check your spare tire pressure too, and make sure the jack is there & works
• look at a map before you travel. don't depend on phone/gps for everything; have at least some general idea in case those fail
• let someone know a rough estimate of when you should arrive or return
• when you're tired, pull over. get out and stretch. eat something, drink something. same for if you're overly emotional - scared or sad or anything. stop. collect yourself. calm down, wake up, whatever it is you need to do. driving is dangerous; take it seriously. driving while tired or driving while distracted is equivalent to driving drunk in terms of your reaction time and awareness.
