I had a nervous breakdown over 7 years ago. My wife turned me out and didn't even allow me to see my children. She belived I was a danger to her and them. I was not and never have been. I had lost my job and broke my back, so I couldn't work.
I began acting strangely, praying in the yard, shouting from rooftops. I painted my head with red paint as a wittness. When she came home I was cutting a cardboard box to make a sign. As soon as she came near to me I put the machatte I was using to cut the box down. This is not unusual (using a machatte to cut a box), I also use it to take out weeds ect. It is a very useful tool.
For some reason she was afraid of me. I had and have never hit her, we are back together again now.
Anyway, a person I shall not name, bought a very small trailer and rented a space for me so I would not have to live on the street. This was hardly a hardship for them as they were rich at the time. I thought this person was doing this out of an act of Christian brotherly love. This person never said I would or should feel obligated to repay them. I was there about 3 months until my wife allowed me to come home.
This person then took the trailer and gave or loaned it to her son.
Now I hear from someone else that she is telling others of her blessed gift in time of need and suggesting thru third parties that I should repay her.
I get only social security and have many medical related bills. I have a 11 year old car and am renting.
My wife works, but she has no retirement and little savings.
While the generosity of this other person was greatly appreaciated, it came as a great surprise that now nearly seven years later she expects to be repaid, and doesn't even have the nerve to ask me, I have to hear it from my 82 year old mother.
I will do the right thing, I will call this person and ask her right out how much of her blessing she wants me to repay.
Beware of gifts that may come back years later to bite you. "I will guard my ways, lest I sin with my tongue..."
Psalm 39;1...
May your gifts come without strings.
May our Lord and Savior pour out His richest blessings upon you and yours.
