Ahwatukee You need to study scripture and not judge others .
The New covenant is opened to all. Whosoever will believe. No matter your background . John 3:16. etc
Bible says, that Jesus went to paradise on the side of the "gulf " ; example:
to the side the Rich man was on ;( The parable of Lazarus and the Rich man )
and offered salvation to them too, allowing them to cross the divide to the side of Eternal life.
Luke 23:43 ; 1 Peter 3:18-20 kjv .
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Passage goes on to say that christ offered salvation to those who have passed away all the way from the beginning of the old testament..
Now you can then attempt to try to spin that to say something different;
than what is plainly stated . but I'm not going to listen to it goodbye..
Oh, goodness. I might get chewed up and spit out, but I'm gonna jump in here! LOL!
I've been thinking lately, too that maybe souls in hell can still be saved because:
1) God is so good;
2) why is there a hell/sheol/hades? - why not just go straight to the Lake of Fire?
3) Jesus has been given the keys of hades/hell - with the keys He can free one as well as lock one up.
4) They'll have no "rewards" in heaven because all their works on earth were evil, however, maybe they can still obtain salvation through the blood of Jesus - calling on His Name even from the pit of hell.
5) What about babies or others that NEVER heard the gospel?
6) There has to be a chance for ALL to enter.
Of course, JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY - I will NEVER deviate from JESUS! I'm just not completely sold on the time frame of salvation being available to lost souls.
Okay, go ahead - chew me up and spit me out! LOL! I'm listening.![]()
Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death- Your proposing universalism.
Hello valleyofdecision,
So sorry, I don't know what universalism is, so I'm definitely NOT proposing it.
Yes, I agree with Romans 6:23 which says the wages of sin is death, however, I'm talking about SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST - What's the time frame that salvation is available to lost souls?
Just, the TIME FRAME - what is the time frame?
That you have reasoned these scriptures incorrectly is plain to see from the word of Jesus.1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Passage goes on to say that christ offered salvation to those who have passed away all the way from the beginning of the old testament..
Now you can then attempt to try to spin that to say something different;
than what is plainly stated . but I'm not going to listen to it goodbye..
universality teaches all will eventually be saved because God loves the world so much he would not send anyone to hell. They would be right, God doe snot send anyone to hell, people send themselves to hell.
I apologize for the proposing comment.
Hello again valleyofdecision,
Thank you for your kind reply! I can see how my view could be misunderstood.
Does universality believe Jesus Christ is the Way, Truth and the Life - no one comes to the Father except through Jesus? I do believe Jesus is the ONLY way - there is no other name given under heaven whereby we must be saved.
I'm still just not sure about the time frame.
My guess would be starting at "the age of accountability" and ending at the "Great White Throne of Judgment which ends with the Lake of Fire." After the Lake of Fire - It is finished!.
Thanks again, God bless!![]()
That you have reasoned these scriptures incorrectly is plain to see from the word of Jesus.
Luke 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
Seems real clear to anyone who care to read what is written.
For the cause of Christ
Roger
Yes they believe that, but they do not believe that hell is real or that God would send anyone there, timeline or no timeline.
Blessings

There is a way to block users, just click on my user name and over on the left you will see "Ignore." Just click that and you won't see any of my posts out on the forum, not to mention that you could just not read them.
By the way, if you're teaching that people have another chance after death to repent and receive Christ, you are teaching a false teaching and you need to consider what I am telling you regarding this because this not according to scripture.
When the rich man asked Abraham to send Lazarus back from the dead to his father's house to warn his brothers, he said "they have Moses and the prophets," i.e. they have the word of God to show them how to keep them from going to that place. So, Jesus did not go and preach to the OT saints to offer them salvation nor does he do that today. God's grace and his mercy are here and now for the living. Once a person dies, that's it! No more grace or mercy. Their record is sealed. Once there they are in torment in flame and will remain there until the great white throne judgment.
,
You're good with words - what Hebrew or Greek words are used for "spirits" and "prison" in the scripture I Peter 3:19? Maybe that will help me understand.![]()
When people block others what they are saying is "I CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH". So rather than block anyone pay close attention to what they say, and if they are in error show them from Scripture.To : Ahwatukee

Vine's Expository Dictionary of NT Words: Spirit
(Strong's #4151 — Noun Neuter — pneuma — pnyoo'-mah )
(m) unclean spirits, demons, Matthew 8:16 ; Luke 4:33 ; 1 Peter 3:19 ; cp. 1 Samuel 18:10
Vines translators that the Greek word pneuma that translates in English to spirit. In the context of being used as a noun neuter in 1 Pet 3:19. They translate unclean spirits, demons
1 Peter 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
(NOTE: We've established the thru context. They are there until the final judgment. Again, context is unclean spirits & demons, not salvation)
A couple supporting scripture:
2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
(NOTE: The verb tartaroo, translated "cast down" in 2 Pet 2:4 signifies to consign to Tartarus. Its the place where those angels whose special sin is referred to in that passage are confined "to be reserved unto judgment;" the region is described as "pits of darkness")
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
(NOTE: Jude sheds additional light here. Angels placed in everlsting chains (again context is not salvation)
Vine's Expository Dictionary of NT Words: Prison
(Strong's #1201 — Noun Neuter — desmoterion — des-mo-tay'-ree-on )
(Strong's #5438 — Noun Feminine — phulake — foo-lak-ay' )
(Strong's #5084 — Noun Feminine — teresis — tay'-ray-sis )
Vines provides 3 different words that translate prison from Greek to English: desmoterion, phulake, teresis. But, it didn't reference any of the three, to 1 Pet 3:19
