Have to agree; I found no Biblical reason to include it in Bible study Rules!
Would you have any understanding of Daniel, had Daniel not explained what all those dreams meant?

It would be the equivalent of bad pizza. But Daniel was given understanding. And in no particular order-- Abraham, and Isaiah, and Joseph, and Jacob, Ezekiel, Paul, Peter, Zechariah, and of course-- John.

Yet the Bible is a book of dreams. Had folks not shared their dreams, you'd know almost nothing of the spiritual realm-- the kingdom of heaven, because that is where God is encountered. They called them prophets and God communicated to them all in dreams.

Is it though?

How did Joseph get out of jail free?

How did God speak to the other Joseph and tell him to marry Mary?

How did God speak to Solomon, granting him wisdom?

I can go on..... but I won't.

I thought Eschatology was the part of theology concerned with death, judgment, and the final destiny of the soul and of mankind. However, if you say it is the study of the end times then I have no reason to doubt you. I don't know. So I'll just change my question to the end time of what exactly?

Considering that it is written in Genesis , "And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth." (9:12) And the LORD said, "And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: that the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. (9:16) The that pretty much rules out there being an end to life on this planet, or end of life in this universe which only leaves the end times for the living who know they are going to die but they don't know anything neither can they because it is written that the dead know not anything, since death is the permanent cessation of life.

So what do you think was meant by "he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" and "whosoever is alive and believeth in me shall never die." Do yo believe it?
The everlasting covenant was not to destroy the earth again with water, not to never again destroy all life on earth.

Gen 9:15
I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.

It's with fire next time.

Understand that the end time tribulation is when Satan is cast down from heaven with his angels, Rev 12:7-9 and comes to earth claiming to be God, II Thes 2:3-4. The whole world will go through this tribulation. They will be tested to see if they studied God's word to learn that Satan would come first, before Jesus, to deceive them into worshipping him as God. Those that know that Satan comes first will escape the tribulation simply by knowing the truth...that Satan is a phony. They will not bow to him and will make a stand against him to expose his lies with the Holy Spirit speaking through them, Mat 10:16-20.

The real Christ will return at the 7th trump AFTER the tribulation of Antichrist, (Satan claiming to be God), Mark 13:24-26. Satan comes first at the 6th seal, the 6th trump and the 6th vial hence his number 666. Don't allow yourself to be led astray and deceived by false doctrines, lies and signs, Rev 13:13. The events that precede the return of Christ are foretold in Math 24 and Mark 13. May God give you eyes to see. I would ask the professor if he knows who the synagogue of Satan is in Rev 2:9 and 3:9.

A token is a small part of, not the whole. For God so loved the world that he gave us his word that whosoever believed him should not nor perish but have everlasting life.

Hello fellow brothers and sisters,

If you did not know, I am currently pursuing a Masters in Divinity. My next class is Biblical Eschatology which is a fancy way of saying - the study of the end times. I thought it would be interesting to ask your view on the End time? Personally, I believe the Church goes through the tribulation.

Now, I have learned to go into classes with as little presupposition as possible. Meaning, I will study it without a conclusion in mind that will skew the text. I would like to ask if anyone has any questions? I will select as many as I can during the next seven weeks and ask them to the professor and see what he says? I thought it would be fun!
Have fun! I enjoyed my seminary experience.
My elaboration of Acts 16:31 correlates with the "ologies" as follows:
  1. There is a/one all-loving and just Lord or God (DT 6:4, JN 3:16, 2THS 1:6), who is both able (2TM 1:12) and willing (1TM 2:3-4) to provide all morally accountable human beings salvation or heaven—a wonderful life full of love, joy and peace forever. [theology & eschatology]
  2. Human beings are selfish or sinful (RM 3:23, 2TM 3:2-4, CL 3:5), miserable (GL 5:19-21), and hopeless (EPH 2:12) or hell-bound at the judgment (MT 23:33 & 25:46) when they reject God’s salvation (JN 3:18, RM 2:5-11). [anthropology & eschatology]
  3. Jesus is God’s Messiah/Christ and incarnate Son, the way that God has chosen (JN 3:16, ACTS 16:30-31, PHP 2:9-11) of providing salvation by means of his atoning death on the cross for the payment of the penalty for the sins of humanity (RM 3:22-25 & 5:9-11), followed by his resurrection to reign in heaven (1CR 15:14-28). [Christology & eschatology]
  4. Thus, every person who hears the NT Gospel needs to repent and accept God’s justification in Jesus as Christ/Messiah the Lord or Supreme Commander (LK 2:11, JN 14:6, ACTS 16:31), which means trying to obey His commandment to love one another (MT 22:37-40, JN 13:35, RM 13:9)—forever (MT 10:22, PS 113:2). [soteriology & eschatology]
  5. Then God’s Holy Spirit will establish a saving relationship with those who freely accept Him (RV 3:20) [pneumatology] that will eventually achieve heaven when by means of persevering in learning Truth/God’s Word/sanctification everyone cooperates fully with His will (JN 14:6, 17&26, RM 8:6-17, GL 6:7-9, EPH 1:13-14, HB 10:36, 12:1, JM 1:2-4). [eschatology]
Thus, I would ask the prof, "What is the most important aspect of eschatology,
because it is part of the soteriological answer?"
[Hopefully, his answer will focus on Matt. 24:36 and 1 Cor. 15:17 :^]
