Right now the Kurds are maintaining control in the north of Iraq. Sunni militants are storming to control central Iraq, and Shia control south Iraq.

Goodness........didn't know Joe suggested this...........and never thought I would agree with him......

In 2004, on another Christian Site, I proposed that America should work with the Kurds to separate the Northern part of Iraq and establish the Democratic Republic of Kurdistan..........to enter into a treaty with them to assist in their National Defense.....and to establish a Military Installation there that would support about 25,000 Troops of various Units.......Infantry, Armor, Air, etc....and negotiate a 50 or 100 year agreement to keep us there........

To be sure that they possessed the Northern Oil Fields, and had access to the Gulf........

To supply and train their Military........to assist them in the writing of their Constitution.......to work with them to form a treaty with Turkey and to work to prevent the Kurdish rebels in the mountains who are at war with Turkey from causing further harm to such a treaty...........

As for the Sunis /Sheis? Tell them to resolve their civil war between each other, stop murdering each other......AND THEN we will assist them in what they need to establish a Sovereign Nation........

BUT WE WOULD PULL OUT all our Troops until this occurred..........

Wrong. There are three political truths.

1. Reagan was the only president in history that had any influence in winning the Cold War.
2. Al Gore invented the Internet.
3. Joe Biden invented the plan to divide Iraq.

I just wanna know why every country that Obama has meddled in, elements of Al qaeda have taken or are taking control. Does he like them? Does he consider them our allies? He seems to like the extreme elements of islam and is giving aid and comfort to them.

Idk going by that argument I would think if we had divided Iraq into 3 after spending all the blood and treasure that would have been admitting a heck of a lot of defeat. Then again if we're going to go into Hindsight Planning, maybe we should've never invaded Iraq to begin with if money and blood is a concern.

A little too late for all that now, wouldn't you say? As far as I am aware Iraq is a sovereign nation. America as a supposed ally of Iraq has a choice to make here. Return to war in Iraq to fight off ISIS and everyone in America will be ticked off or we do nothing and there's a strong possibility ISIS may overthrow the Maliki regime. Quite a hard choice to make really. We shall see soon what choice America's politicians will make.

Was referring more to my idea than the other............as for Iraq being a sovereign nation..........it is a NATION IN UPHEAVEL and I seriously doubt if it will stand 'till the end of this year.......Iran will end up the Parent Nation of Iraq.........because I don't believe the current Administration has any idea how to prevent it..........or the inclination to........

Yes, it is far too late..........we were simply speaking of what was put forth BEFORE...........what might have resolved the issue in a more favorable way for both the citizens of Iraq and the U.S./world.

Bush opened the door for a stronger influence of Al Qaeda in Iraq.
