Big Bang Biblical???

well as you probably know in the text bookk it says for some stars after a big red star 'dies' the gasses it leaves is compressed to create a new star(new star is born).
yet out of the trillions of stars they havent discovered one star being "born'.
hope tht answers it :D
 
But they made a whole movie about it.

I think Judy Garland was in it.

well ive searched all over the place for a star being born not much luck(im kinda a nerd). but i was only using the star thing to show that explosions and big bangs dont create things only destroy :p

im not sure if you were talking to me. but just like a whole lot of science its just theroy no real evidence to back it up
 
I see. Well, I recall reading something about Hubble seeing stars being born.

As for the big bang, saying "explosions don't create, only destroy" is a terrible argument that shows you don't understand anything about the big bang theory. You're thinking of it the wrong way. Like, comparing it to a dynamite explosion. The big bang is in no way comparable to a dynamite explosion. A dynamite is an explosion of matter IN space. The big bang was a literal explosion of space itself. It's better to think of it as a sudden expansion.
 
yea ok i see your argument, ok how about this: scientists say that space is still expanding, but expanding into what? if nothing is nothing then how is space continually expanding? you can't expand iinto nothing, because if nothing is nothing then can you expand into something thats not there Oo... lol

Space refers to everything in the universe and beyond. The universe is expanding into an infinity of nothingness (space).

Please don't tell me you're denying that the universe is expanding =\
 
yes, yes i am. whhen god created the universe it was same size as it is now(i strongly beilive that)

Yes I think GOD made the big bang but I dont belive in elovotion if that makes sense
 
When the Bible states that God made/created, it is God that is telling us what He created/made, now if God where to explain in detail as to HOW He created/made things then the Bible would be so huge that all the paper in the world would not be sufficient to contain all the details...sheesh!....when someone says they made a cupboard for example, they don't go into lengthy details as to the actual process do they? I mean like God said He created Adam from the dust of the earth, so what does that mean?..that He took a handful of dust, threw it up into the air and poof..Adam appeared?...I'm sure there is more intelligence here to figure that the actual method/process God used was a bit more intricate. Our God is Great God and we don't appreciate how Awesome He is. we try to bring Him to our level of understanding.
 
Well the universe must have expanded at some time. Because it went from nothing to something. It may be expanding now; it may be in steady state; it may be contracting. I don't know that the Bible specifies a position on that. I DO KNOW that the Bible refers to a time in the future when it will collapse completely.

We are now at a place in the arguement where we need to define what we mean as the universe.
The physical universe is unarguably finite. To talk about what is beyond that boundary is actually a philosophical question.
The best term I can think of is existence. Now we are up to discussing spiritual realities as opposed to physical realities.

Bang - 1. loud sudden explosion, as a discharge of a gun. 2. a resounding stroke or blow. 3. a knock; a bump. 4.col. sexual intercourse. 5. col. energy, spirit. 6. col. thrill, excitement. etc.

Did God fire a gun to create the Universe, or make an explosion? NO.

Did God strike an object causing a resounding 'bang' audible noise with his fist or head to create? NO.

Did God accidently bump into something suddenly? NO.

We wont worry about the modern colloquialisms.

First off, you are deffinatly one of the most disrespectful people I have met on here. I have actually not seen you emit the love of Jesus once. I am off to school now, but will answer this when I get home. I am praying for you though.

that's interesting...as scientists say that at some point in the distant future that is exactly what is going to happen, but I don't really agree as the Bible says the opposite that the world is never going to end.
do you have the scripture that says this?

2 Peter 3:10 But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. The earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Looks like it will end with a Big Bang (or pop)
 
I never saw how the big bang theory should in any way be against the bible... what stops God from making a big boom first, and then maintaining control of everything?

orfor that sake, making the boom, letting everything else "evolve" and then creating earth in six days? He is after all God. He can do whatever he wants. ;)
