A born again Christian (Believer) can be Blind???

According to the Holy Scriptures, the answer is Yes. For those that watched my teaching last night on Receiving with meekness the engrafted word (on my YouTube channel), you were shown the importance of Receiving the Holy Scripture (King James Bible) in Your Walk for Good Service unto Our Lord Jesus Christ. For any Christian to have excellence in his life and to profit spiritually in his walk, he must become a doer of the word. But before he can become a doer of the word, he must first receive the engrafted word. Today there are a lot of Christians who are not doers of the word. In this is why they fail in life, they live defeated lives.

Now when any person gets saved, at that very moment of Salvation, that person's eyes are spiritually opened and he is indwelt with the Holy Spirit and he also receives the filling of the Holy Spirit. Where he is filled with the Spirit and with the Scripture. And while a Christian cannot lose the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and of the Holy Scripture.

However though, he can lose the filling of the Holy Spirit and of the Holy Scripture. And if the Christian goes long without the filling of the Spirit, he then begins to face the danger of becoming spiritually Blind. This is what James 1 and 2 Peter 1:9 are speaking about. The born again Christian who continues to walk after the flesh, loses his spiritual sight to where he eventually becomes spiritually blind to where he cannot see afar off, forgets he is even saved (2 Peter 1:9) and he forgets what manner of man he was (James 1:23-24), and also stumbles because of the spiritual darkness which he is abiding in (1 John 2:9-11).

If a Christian hates his brother or his sister in Christ, that Believer is spiritually blind and is not abiding in the light of God's word, but is abiding and walking in darkness. If this blind Believer does not repent of his sins and transgressions, and chooses to stay in darkness (in his walk (State), then he will lose the things which God had desired to give him in heaven. He will suffer huge loss of inheritance, rewards and crowns. And will not be able to partake of the glory which shall be revealed. He will still be in heaven. For he is still God's child and as brother Terrill Price points out, our Lord Jesus loves all believers. And yes, even the lukewarm, carnal and blind believers. And while Our Lord Jesus Christ loves all those that are His, still though, he still cannot reward disobedience.

2 Peter 1 is a great passage for a couple of reasons. The guy in the video says this kind of person has lost the "joy" of their salvation. However, if you read the passage carefully that's not what it says. The person is in danger of losing their salvation! Let's look at it:

"As His divine power has granted to us all things pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, through which have been given to us precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through these we may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this very reason, making every effort, provide with your faith virtue, and with virtue knowledge, and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control perseverance, and with perseverance godliness, and with godliness brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love. For if these things belong to you and are increasing, it makes you neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is blind, being shortsighted, having forgotten the cleansing of his past sins. Therefore, brothers, be even more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for by doing these things you shall by no means stumble at any time. For in this way the entrance will be supplied to you richly into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."—2 Peter 1:3-11

It says that by doing these things our entrance into the kingdom will be made sure! Our entrance isn't guaranteed. Just because our "past sins" were forgiven, this isn't a guarantee our future ones will be if we don't persevere in the Lord.

"What does it profit, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Is that kind of faith able to save him?"—James 2:14

Some will no doubt point to the words "supplied to you richly"; meaning we can still skate, we'll just miss out on the rich entrance. But recall what Jesus said in the parable of the talents:

"But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and slothful servant, you knew that I reap where I did not sow, and gather where I did not scatter. Therefore you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received what is mine with interest. Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents. For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but to him who does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. And cast the useless servant into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' "—Matthew 25:26-30

The things this guy teaches don't do anything to motivate a person to perseverance; in fact they do the opposite. He fails to warn of the true consequences of losing the joy of our salvation. There is a point at which one can be broken beyond remedy, even if their past sins were forgiven.

RA, 2 Peter 1 is not saying that a believer can lose their salvation. The passage is not saying that at all. Also RA, our works of service and deeds have no bearing on whether we go to Heaven or not. Salvation is not based on our works. Salvation is said to be a Free Gift, according to the Holy Scripture. What 2 Peter is teaching is that a born again believer can become spiritually blind, if they stay barren, and that they can even forget that they are even saved. And so that blind believer has lost his joy and assurance of salvation, but he has not lost his salvation. For Salvation can never be lost.

RA, 2 Peter 1 is not saying that a believer can lose their salvation. The passage is not saying that at all. The passage is exhorting the believer to not be barren, but rather, to be fruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Also RA, our works of service and deeds have no bearing on whether we go to Heaven or not. Salvation is not based on our works. Salvation is said to be a Free Gift, according to the Holy Scripture. What 2 Peter is teaching is that a born again believer can become spiritually blind, if they stay barren, and that they can even forget that they are even saved. And so that blind believer has lost his joy and assurance of salvation, but he has not lost his salvation. For Salvation can never be lost.
