Body of Sin is another way of saying, "Sinful Nature." The KJV uses "body of the sins of the flesh" while the NLT uses the phrase, "Sinful Nature. By comparing the NLT with the KJV, you will get a very clear picture of what is happening, there.

If people think that this is about physical circumcision, then by looking at the KJV translation, are we to assume that verse 13 is about actual, physical foreskins? Check out the verse . . .

Colossians 2:13 KJV - "And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses . . ."

Ask yourself what it is that is to be "quickened" together with Christ? Is it the dead, withered foreskins of all the men on the earth, or is it "Sarx," the Sinful State of a person . . . which applies to all people and not just men.

The entire purpose of the Bible is wrapped up in Colossians 2:9-15 (Seven Amazing Verses), and that Eternal Purpose was for Christ to become the remedy to that Sinful State of a person, a state that was applied all the way back in the Garden of Eden. If Jesus does not cut away the Curse that includes the Sinful Nature, then the entire Bible is garbage . . . pointless and useless.

Believe me . . . I could write an entire 300+ page book on your question with hundreds upon hundreds of clear Bible references.

Read the three sets of Bible passages, starting with the lower-left corner, working your way to the bottom right, and then read the passages at the pinnacle of the Triangle . . . Colossians 2:9-15. This is the Core of the Bible . . . if you take the time to understand how these three sets of passages are at the absolute center of our Bible, your entire approach and concept of the Bible will change, and probably as you had always hoped.

This is exactly right, DiegoB. Nehemiah6 is right, for he is referencing 2nd Peter 1:4, which tells us about this new Nature . . . a Holy and Divine Nature. This New Nature is a replacement for the Sin Nature that Nehemiah6 has also told us about. Here it is:

2 Peter 1:4 NLT - "And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires."

When a person takes on this New Nature, the event that takes place during the Circumcision of Christ, this is the moment when that human will begin the remainder of their life, learning to operate by the Laws of the Spirit of Life. Anyone who lives by the Laws of the Spirit of Life, they have received the Circumcision of Christ. Here it is:

When a man is physically circumcised, what man wants his old foreskin returned and reinstalled? None. When a person has been relieved of the Sinful Nature, the mind senses the difference as it begins to think in a whole new way. Once that Curse has been lifted and the Holy Spirit is Indwelt within you, that Curse will never return. How do we know? The Holy Spirit will never leave us . . . the Spirit will carry on the Lord's Work and He will not fail.

Once Spiritually Circumcised, always Spiritually Circumcised. The Seal of Ownership has been cast and that person is no longer their own . . . they are the Property of Christ.

No. The sin nature (body of sin) will only be eradicated at the Rapture, when all the saints will be perfected (body, soul, and spirit) (1 John 3:1-3). But God did not intend for Christians to struggle all through life. So the focus must always be on (1) God, (2) Christ, (3) righteousness and (4) good works by the power of the Spirit. See Philippians 4:4-9.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. As you can see, God sees this as "reasonable". And the mind can only be renewed by the Word of God (the Sword of the Spirit). So you must be immersed in Scripture (the King James Bible or its equivalent in Spanish), and abandon all the other distractions. Also, as a believer you already have a right standing with God. since you are justified by grace through faith. So this is about sanctification and holiness (your state).

Yes. Total holiness will be possible only after the Rapture. But holiness implies sanctification, purification, separation, dedication, and consecration unto God -- separation from all that is corrupt, sinful, and evil. And that is expected in this life.

It may not be easy, but it can be done by the grace of God and the power of the Spirit: And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Eph 4:24)

When we are saved we still have the sin nature according to the flesh for it does not change but we go by the Spirit which a Spirit led life will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh for they have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, and show the ways of the Spirit and not the flesh.

And God will not allow them to be tempted above what they are able, and will give them an escape from the temptation so they can bear it.

Diego . . . you're turning Scripture into saying things that it does not say. How will you ever hold the Truth if you don't accept what Scripture is telling you. Colossians 2:10 is telling you that a person who receives Christ is Complete. Verses 11 through 15 tell you EXACTLY how and why.

Please do not miss this text. These are the single most important verses in the entire Bible because it is these Incredible verses that will place you on the path of having the right perspective on the Bible. If you don't know how these verses fit in with the entire Bible . . . understanding His Holy Word is going to be very difficult. You must, absolutely must begin reading and discovering the Bible for yourself.

Don't even listen to me, but listen to the Holy Spirit, if the Holy Spirit is leading you. I've given you those three sets of passages to dwell on. Study them, making them the focus of all of your Bible Studies. If a person does not understand the Mysterious Plan of God, they cannot know the Full, and True Gospel of Christ.

We are complete in Christ if we are led of the Spirit and a Spirit led life will abstain from sin, but the flesh never changes and is always sinful so we will not get rid of our sin nature until we are out of this flesh being with Jesus.

Although we do not have to go by the sin nature by the Spirit but the sin nature is still there.
