This is something I've always been curious about. Why does Genesis one use the word God (Elohim) and man was made after beast, Genesis two uses Lord God (Yahuah Elohim) and man was alone, then he made beast.

Is it possible that God, refers to the Father and Lord, refers to the Son?

And is it possible that Genesis one was creating the Spiritual and two was the flesh?*

The sons of God came in onto the daughters of men.* Sons of God were created too, right?

This is just something I think about every year when I start reading the bible from the beginning.* ☺

I don't know the fancy words for this but we can find in more than one place in the Bible the first chapter explain what happened and the following chapter being a detailed description of the event.

We find this in Genesis Chapter 1 & 2 but also in other places like Genesis 5 & 6. There are also other places in Genesis but I cannot remember off hand where it is.

I think that the most common explanation is that these are two different sources put together in one book. Thats why the style is different.

I know that this solution does not sound so cool or mysterious, but it is the most probable one.

the first chapter of John. These verses predate the first verse in Genesis.

John 1:1-4: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was [with] God,
and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him [the Word]; and without him was not any thing
made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”

Before the angels were created, before the universe or man were created,
God and the Word existed. Two Personages are revealed.

The Word in John 1 is translated from the Greek word Logos and means “Spokesman.”

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”verse 14:

“The Word, then, is a Personage who was made flesh—begotten by God,
who through this later begettal became His Father.

Yet at that prehistoric time of the first verse of John 1, the Word was not (yet)
the Son of God. He divested himself of His glory as a spirit divinity to be
begotten as a human person. He was made God’s Son, through being begotten
or sired by God and born of the virgin Mary.

The Word was made the Son of God when He was begotten by God of
the virgin Mary and later resurrected as the firstborn Son of God.

Prior to becoming the Son, He was the Word. By Him, “all things were made”
Ephesians 3:9 says, “…?God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.”

So it is revealed that God is the Creator, but He created all things through
the Word, or Spokesman, the one who became Jesus Christ.

Now move forward in time sequence to Genesis 1:1:
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

The Hebrew word translated ‘God’ is Elohim—a noun or name,
plural in form, but normally singular in grammatical usage.

It is the same sort of word as family, church, group—one family
consisting of two or more members—one church composed of many members
—one group of several persons.

It is referring to precisely the same Persons, making up or composing the one God,
as we found in John 1:1—the Word and God—and each of those two Persons is God” .

“And God [Elohim] said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness?…” (Genesis 1:26).
God said, “Let us”... after our likeness?…”—more than one.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God?…”—more than one.
God, who created all things by Jesus Christ”—more than one!

One of the two, the Word, became flesh. The other one, God the Father, did not become flesh.

After Adam rebelled against God, notice what Elohim said in Genesis 3:22:
“And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us..

Here, God not only says “us,” He says “one of us”! One of the “us”
was God the Father and the other one of the “us” was the Word.

If there was just one deity, why would one deity say to Himself, “ONE of us”?

In the New Testament, The word “son” is used 422 times alone.
In at least half of those instances, the word is referring to Jesus Christ
—the Son of God the Father.

The word “father” is used 352 times in the New Testament and,
in over 250 cases, it refers to God the Father. Father and Son—family!

“The names ‘Father’ and ‘Son’ do indicate a family relationship.”

The Word was made flesh (John 1:14). In the flesh, Jesus was also God.
He was God converted to flesh (1?Timothy 3:16). Hebrews 2:14 says,

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood,
he [Christ] also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death
he might destroy annul him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”

His life was worth more than all other human beings combined.

When Jesus died, He was in the grave three days and three nights (Matthew 12:40)
the second person of the Godhead—Emmanuel—God with us—God made human flesh
—was dead!”

that Christ had given up His immortal life inherent in divine glory
and been converted into human mortality for the purpose of death.

the same God who made the Word flesh also raised Jesus Christ from the dead!

Acts 13:30 says, “But God raised him from the dead.”

In verse 21 we see that God created the birds after their kind.
In verse 25 it says God made the beasts of the Earth after their kind, the cattle
after their kind and every thing that creeps upon the Earth after its kind.

Genesis 1:26: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness?.…”

The sons of God came in onto the daughters of men.* Sons of God were created too, right?

Genesis 6 mentions the “sons of God.” Are they angels or men?
If so, did angels marry and reproduce, and have offspring

Angels were a special creation. Each was individually created

Hebrews 1:14, we see that they are created spirits and not mortal flesh-and-blood beings.
Christ is recorded in the Gospel accounts as stating that angels are created spirits.

They cannot reproduce by sexual intercourse or any other means
(see Luke 20:34-36; Matthew 22:30; Mark 12:25)

34And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
35But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead,
neither marry, nor are given in marriage:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto
the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.

25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry,
nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

Mankind has the potential to be in the Family of God,
Angeles where not given this opportunity.

“For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee?
And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?” (Hebrews 1:5).

Only mankind, created physically unlike the angels, may become spiritual “sons of God”
through a begettal by God’s Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14; 1 John 3:1; 2 Peter 1:4).
When we are also composed of spirit like the angels, we will not have sexual function.

-

“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth,
and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they
were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. The sons of God came in unto
the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which
were of old, men of renown” (verses 1-4).

“sons of God” The phrase can be used three different ways in the Bible:

1) Men (Genesis 6:1-4; Luke 3:38; Malachi 2:10).

2) Angels (Job 38:5-7; Hebrews 1:5).

3) Spirit-begotten humans (Romans 8:14; 1 John 3:1; 2 Peter 1:4).

The first two groups are both created “sons of God,” physical and spiritual.
But only the first category of men, created physical “sons of God,” unlike the
angels, may become spiritual “sons of God” through a begettal by God’s Holy Spirit.

Genesis 6:2 says that the “sons of God” took wives. Since they married women,
they could not be angels. Notice verse three: “The Lord said, My spirit shall not
always strive with man.” Here, again, the sons of God are called man.

Because these sons of God sinned, God continues in verse 7,
“I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth .…”

angels are spirits and could not be destroyed by water.

With the flood, “all flesh died … and every man. … Noah only remained alive,
and they that were with him in the ark” (Genesis 7:21-23).

I used to believe that Genesis 6:1-4 was about angeles,
but now I think they where just sons of God [men]
