i think its a BAD idea.

I don't see the need to ask a child their sexual preference at all, since Boy Scouts is suppose to teach moral Christian values like waiting until you are married.

If the children are not Christian and willing to abide by Christian values, I don't think they should join the Boyscouts.

The proposed resolution also emphasizes that “scouting is a youth program, and any sexual conduct, whether homosexual or heterosexual, by youth of scouting age is contrary to the virtues of scouting.”

trying to pad the resolution with things already accepted like banning openly homosexual adults from leading the scouts, but that would be the next step.

To me this is good news. These are KIDS we are talking about! kids going threw puberty with all kids of hormones confusing their minds.

ALL the kids I grew up with in scouts that identified as being gay are now married to a WOMEN an have children

As fare as scout leaders what dose it matter? We had married scout leaders that wold fondle little boy scouts in the tents at camp outs

What about all the pastors that sexually abused boys and girls? and in the protestant Christian community much of the child abuse dose not get reported

People often forget the boy scouts are there not to enforce Christian or social issue's but to teach kids survival,camping and recreation safety and that's it!

I guess the Boyscouts don't care what religion you are, they have Muslim, Jewish and Mormon chapters.

Someone told me they were a Christian based organization, but I guessed that has changed sometime in the last few years.

its the opposite it started just as boys learning survival,camping and recreation safety and the mormon Church got involved and started to donated all kinds of money and influenced them to teach values common among Christians and Mormons. As a way to make Mormons look like just another christian denomination

Do not be fooled folks this is just another sneaky mormon tactic

I know a young man that was kicked out of his troops and had his name with all his achievements removed from the scout records because he refused to convert to the LDS church.

Now he has to start all over in a new troop and he was a Eagle scout

I was a scout master and no longer am because of the strong mormon influence in the BSA (Boy Scouts of America)

Chartered means they provide a space for meetings and momentary support NOT a faith influence

Temple C, nice to meet you. I am also a former Scoutmaster and a wood Badger (Owl Patrol).

I see the new proposed changes as being more accepting of homosexuality. It certainly is a sad day when sin is openly accepted as being normal.
 
I can respect your views However remember back to the 80's and before...when there was no influence of christian values and no ban on gays and atheist ...why do you except the change that the Mormon Church brought to scouting?

don't you miss they days when you could meet unbelievers and gays at scouts and build relationships with them and share the gospel with them?

Scouting used to be a great tool for evangelism!
 
There is a girl in my nieghborhood and she is in the Boy Scouts. Is nothing sacred anymore?

She is better off in BSA then the Girl scouts i have 2 girls and I wont let them near the girl scouts these days
