i saw a pair of tall red pumps and i told myself.. i'd love to wear that...
i pictured myself walking along a brightly lit famous lane in a starry night
after much hard work and lots of sacrifices... i got my precious pair of tall red pumps
it made me feel like a confident young lady ready to conquer the world
i raised my arm and threw my fist at the world taunting it to give me war
everything felt so easy... i felt so complacent... so lazy
at each victory i wanted more... i was never satisfied...
whenever each battle ends... i felt empty...
and so i crave for bigger... tougher puzzles...
i thirst for wisdom... i long for more reason to celebrate
for each mountain i climb... i have the SUN in my backpack...
for now, i only want to see the stars
i can always let its rays shine a little when i needed help
but as i got closer to the peak of the mountain... i find it harder and harder to breathe
could it be the pressure of being on top?
or maybe i wasn't meant to be where i am?
i wanted to go back down... but the only way to go back is to let myself roll to the ground
should i let myself slip and get bruised?
i am torn if i wanted to go back to the comfort of home...
or brave the strong winds and hope to see the most beautiful view
they say i am brave... well, i wanted them to think i am brave
but truth is i am not...
i've always wanted to wear these bright red pumps...
but the splinters on my feet makes me wonder how long i've been wandering for a while
it is a fact that i did all these for them... but it is mostly because i wanted to go this way too
i wanted to let go of my backpack... the SUN was never meant to be contained in something so small
maybe i could let the SUN shine bright ahead of me
coz i've realized i couldn't really see my way with only the stars guiding me
at this point... i wanted to go back to my lovely flats...
and enjoy the kiss of the SUN as i walk on the narrow streets
maybe... just maybe... everything will go back the way they were before...
peace... and serenity
