Many people view their garage door as a strong defense against home invaders and burglars. Some may even leave the door from the garage to inside the house unlocked because they think the garage door itself stops intruders.

Burglars and home invaders have a way of breaking in through your garage door within six seconds or less. They break in by manipulating the safety release.

Yup if someone intrudes on your property to do you any type of harm, your initial reaction is to be....What must I do so this person on my property to cause me harm doesn't get harmed?

And that's even if protecting them from being harmed causes harm to you!

Just remember, if they punch you and break their hand, they can sue you because your face was too dangerous!

i'm surprised we haven't seen more "entrapment" defenses.

i.e. your house was too inviting for me to pass up. you tricked me!!!

I heard something similar to this argued by the wife of an armed robber who was fatally shot by a store owner.
The lawyer argued that there are two sides to every fight, and the owner had the responsibility to think of other options before he shot.

Even if the time it took to think of the other options would have cost him his own life!
Yeah let's give the benefit of the doubt to the armed robber threatening the innocent business man.

I wonder if a judge will accept "the devil made me do it?" We're getting pretty close to that nowadays. Oh wait no because that would be to admit that there is a God.

Also, entrapment is one of those cool words that doesn't get thrown around often enough. You've just given the inspiration for an original (and really corny) pick up line. Cheers!
