Bury or Cremate

I've recently been informed my parents and husbands parents (both boomers) plan on being cremated when they die. Actually a lot aunts and uncles as well. No funeral and cremation. This is different for our family bc all of our grandparents were buried.

Is there a reason for it? Is it cheaper? Less work? Less taxes? Is it less work for us to do? Like maybe they hated planning the funerals of their parents. It freaks me out getting burned. But also I'm claustrophobic so burying seems horrible too.

I didn't think it was a big deal until I started thinking about where I would go to mourn. Do I keep them on my fireplace? I go to my grandparents tombstone and prefer it. It's an eerie sense of peace at this point many years later.

Also is it against the Bible any of it? How will their new bodies come back? Maybe I'm overthinking it.

There is no command in Scripture requiring burial. Burial is traditional, not commanded.
Israel buried because they were a settled people and they had family land, had to go somewhere with the deceased. Burial was culturally normal. But Scripture never says, “You must be buried.” Cremation does not hinder resurrection. God does not need a preserved body.
Paul says, “It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.” 1 Corinthians 15:44
The resurrection body is not the reassembled corpse. It is new, glorified, and Spirit‑created.
Whether a body, decays, is burned, is lost at sea, is eaten by animals, turns to dust, God raises the person by His power, not by the condition of the remains.

even though what costs less is less of a cost, it may cost you more to see if it cost you less in the long run which don't forget, may cost you more! nyuknyuknyuk!!!

I'd be fine with a sun pyre. Laid on a wooden platform in the trees , naked, to rot and feed buzzards, etc.. give back what was given me.

But,that's no longer legal.
