but I do not understand this reputation power stuff! I thought I did until I saw three different reputation notices coming in on my notifications this morning. Then I click on it and Im just LOST.
Could someone plz explain this to me? Why dont I have a icon to give a reputation? Where does it come from? Who determines it?

Fair warning: I am very analytical. I need it spelled out>exasperated on all facets spelled out! LOL

I appreciate you for helping me. This is a quandry that Id like to put to bed.

The icon is at the bottom of a post, on the left. It looks like a star. It's right beside where it says "Blog this Post".

I don't really know how the rep power system works beyond that. :P

Perhaps someone will help me to understand how its calculated and where I can find the recommendations of reputation after I have read them in the notifications box. Is it a recommendation or what?
 
When a member joins, once they reach 50 written posts they receive a green bar and a power. The number of posts are determined by the mods, so everyone's post numbers are different. Using my powers as an example, if I gave you rep, you would gain 47 rep points because I have 47 rep powers. For every 100 rep points, you get a green bar and a power, up to a certain point. Mine used to be every 100 rep points, now it's every two hundred.. The rep button is found at the bottom of a person's post. You can make a comment, or leave your name so whoever you're repping knows it's from you..

When someone gives you rep, it usually means they like what you wrote.. :)

TY Ladyblue! Your explanation was very helpful. Expecially the green bar thing. I hadnt noticed till now that you ad a zillion of them haha So does that mean you are green are you graduated from being green to mean green posting machine? < Im a cornball I know I know...:p

The notifications tab at the top of the page tells you how many notifications you have, whether they are rep points, emails, visitor page messages, etc. Go to the Settings tab at the top of the page, and it will show you all your rep that you have been given and that you've given to others. To see a list of your likes, go to your profile page and it will tell the number of likes given and received.. :)
