calling a priest 'father'

They are not offices, check the Greek. They are functions of service. When Paul said 'I magnify my office', he was really saying 'I magnify my service' or function. Romans11:13.
Show me one case in the NT where someone was addressed with a title in front of his name. Others have said correctly that when they referred to fathers in the third person that is totally different than addressing someone face to face with a religious title that causes the division that Christ condemned. Not to mention the arrogance of one believer being more special than another.

Re-Read first line and if what you say is true than they would call NO MAN FATHER period...!

The Pope, Mary and priests have no mediating abilities between God and men.....JESUS is the only one...

Jesus is one

Jesus + Pope is 2
Jesus + Mary is 2
Jesus = Anyone is more than 1 (ONE)

My Bible states clearly ONE Mediator between MEN and GOD period.....and quite simple!

Ok I guess dad will be fine, but that's a silly argument I think, seeing as how your biological dad did have something to do with bringing you forth, your priests didn't (in most cases anyway), but that is just my opinion on the matter admittedly.
