I am a child of God. Anything that takes our focus off the Lord is not of God. If you get into a discussion of freewill of man you are going down a path that leads to something that does not honor the Christ and Lord and I for one will try to stay far away from that and just simply give the Lord all the credit for his wonderful works.
Oh that men would praise the lord for his goodness and wonderful works to the children of men. Psalm 107 4 times. Let men exalt him in the congregations and praise him in the assembly of elders. Praise the Lord for his mighty and completed works if you belong to him all day long and all the time. He is a Great and terrible God ruling over all and he knows who are his and we know him. May God bless you as only he can do.

Should we not add........ discussion of water baptism/OSAS/Predestination/Deity of Christ/Holy Trinity and others? Or just free will?

Well all these things have there place. I'm just thankful to be his. And I love to say so for he has done a mighty work with men and it amazes me that he chose to include me. He is so merciful and full of grace.

I too am thankful beyond words for His saving grace. However, I do not see how one discussing Scripture does not bring honor to God. We are instructed to study the Scripture, and the Disciples themselves discussed/debated/argued and disagreed on parts of the Gospel of Christ.

Now, the nasty stuff surely does not honor God, but simple discussion should be what the Church does on a daily basis in my opinion. In that way, we all grow in Christ.

Why would a discussion mans free will take us down such a path? Man's free will is the exact thing God uses for his plans he gives us a choice out of love as he treasures a willing child not a controlled one and interestingly enough it's that very free will that helped to accomplish much of his great plans because the people he used to do so adored him and were willing.

Perhaps I simply misunderstood what you meant

yes all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness......2 Tim 3:16 The scriptures also say "but shun profane and vain babblings for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
A good discussion of solid bible teachings is both good and profitable when done with care and understanding.
